Thanks for the tip, I will look them up.

You are correct. We have not seen anything yet. Not only will there be fewer and fewer retail outlets. The ones that remain open will have fewer and fewer goods to sell.
Excellent! S&W enjoying their fatter paychecks, no doubt!
The nurseries near me are ghost towns, hard to see how they can stay in business.
Not sure. But I've seen S&H at Ace Hardware in Chicagoland.
Troubling times, indeed.

“Scotts couldn’t have been a worse corporate owner,” said Paul Hawken. “Smith & Hawken had become just a ghost of itself.”
Dave Smith, who lives in Mendocino County and owns Mulligan Books in Ukiah, said he had gone so far as to ask friends to boycott the company bearing his name.
“When Scotts bought it and Smith & Hawken was owned by the largest pesticide seller in the U.S., I suggested people boycott it,” he said. “It had completely lost its roots.”
Hawken, now head of engineering firm Pax Group, used the occasion of the closure to host a party Wednesday night.
“I couldn’t be happier to see my name come down,” he said

At his closure party I hope that liberal clown remembered to toast all those employees headed for the unemployment line.
No doubt about it.
Not to threadjack but have any of the retailers admitted complicity in their demise by stocking the identical cheap tat available at the next store, i.e., abandoning their identity?
You have to love all that compassion.
PUNNY!
LOL!
Agreed, small retailers that can make to Christmas will be very disappointed in the holiday sales this year and next.
It’s those evil rich. We have to wipe them out.
Actually I was looking for outdoor wall art - a metal sun sculpture - and came across Smith and Hawkin at Target or some such store. It was a surprise.
Too bad they’re going down - they have a nice store in Portland.
Hard to believe the idiot in chief intends to make this worse. He’s like Dr. Strangelove - ready to ride the bomb all the way to the bottom.
Surprised there's no language in the sales agreement barring such activity.
Unbelievable ain’t it? It never seems to occur to the left, that the evil rich buy things, and build things, and that that results in EMPLOYMENT for the not so rich.... shakes head.
