I would also ban alligator hunting for a few years so they can eat the wounded pythons that slither away. Is there such a thing as python cowboy boots?

Give Charlene Crist a machete and put her to work. She can work on her suntan at the same time.
After she is done she can go after the iguanas and illegal alien Brazilians.

How are they going to get rid of them without using lethal methods?

I think this topic has missed the real questions, and they are “Are pythons tasty?” and “How are they best cooked?”

LOL! You are going to supervise enough hunters to kill 150,000 snakes, are you?

Same goes for Iguanas and Monitors.

National Park officials are certifiably nuts!
The only way to get rid of dangerous predators is to kill them. And there is absolutely no justification for not getting rid of non-native predators like pythons.
The people of Florida and everywhere else should "thank" all the a--holes who think it's cool to have and sell such exotic "pets".

So is it already o.k. to kill the pythons on private land?I would hope so but the crazy laws often punish farmers and ranchers and even homeowners who try to protect themselves and their livestock.

Florida had considered everything from using volunteers to trap them . . . Sounds like a good job for the Americorp volunteers.

Wouldn't a large bounty get the job done quicker? Oh, it would leave less money for the bureaucrats

Right... because what Florida really needs, more than killing 150,000 free roaming pythons, is caging and feeding 150,000 pythons. Maybe the feds can make 'em all vegan pythons, so they won't have to feed 'em 150,000 rabbits a month (after all, that's not too "non-lethal" for the poor fluffy bunnies).
