Lean, mean, bureaucracy-free, launching machine!
I love it!

Now that was not only great, it was one heck of a commercial for privatization!

NASA is worse than the post office these days. When the Germans all retired it became and EEOC operation. Privatize it. John Glenn = self promoting weasel. I liked Al Shepherd, Wally Schirra, Armstrong, Lovell and the others.

Outstanding

A commercial launch with better camera coverage than NASA had until years after their the first mission that went into orbit.

The bird made it, I hope it is in the orbit they wanted.

If you missed this one,,, try to be there for the next one.

Heck of thrill when they make it!

I had the sound off, but I saw the picture flicker and cut out from across the room. Did that happen when it was supposed to?

They said as the rocket went downrange they would lose video and telemetry from it.

When NASA was trying to put the first satellites into orbit they had tracking stations in several countries around the world. Even with all of them there were times the bird was out of range with the control center.

I believe this was true even in the days of NASA manned flights as well. Over the Indian Ocean was one of the times no communication with astronauts was available.

The Launch was from Omeleck Island on the Kwajalein Atoll.

2100 miles SW of Hawaii, in the Marshall Islands. I was here working on the launch, and it was perfect. Soon as it came around the earth, TM picked up the signal, so the payload is in orbit.

Very exciting and highly successful.

I do!

Three days in a row to the beach and no fireworks! The only thing accomplished was a long walk on the beach and the dog got to wade in the water.

I think something is up at the management of the space industry. It feels like they are purposely screwing with the masses to get them fed up with the process so cutting the funding will not be as tough.

Yeah, its horrible...

Be nice if we could get the guy who is doing the raindance there at the cape, to come around to different places that are kinda dry now...

That would be way cool...
