I have a cat who loves this one chair in my living room. If I’m sitting in that chair and he wants it, he will walk all over me from one arm to the other repeatedly until I inally relinquish the chair to him. He doesn’t need to meow.

I had one cat who would try to bamboozle visitors into feeding her. She would just sit, bat her eyes at the visitor and put on this sad face like she hadn’t been fed in weeks. I always said that if they gave out Academy Awards to cats, she would win hands down.

And if you try to move them off the chair they are in so you can sit in it, they act as if you are a famously well known abuser of innocent wittle kitties. Then they go sit on the keyboard of your laptop and erase the last hour's worth of writing.

Both cats and dogs have the ability to get that look that says, "No one in this cruel, stingy household has fed me for weeks and I am starving. To death. Take pity on me please, please, please."
