Sarah Palins political action committee raised nearly $733,000 in the first six months of 2009 and has more than $450,000 in cash on hand, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.
While Republicans are hopeful that Palin will be a big fundraising help for them, her PAC hasnt exactly been a campaign-finance ATM. Since its formation in late January, it appears to have made just two political contributions $5,000 to Palins 2008 running mate, Sen. John McCain, and $5,000 to Alaskas Republican senator, Lisa Murkowski.
The majority of the money raised by SarahPAC so far has come in the form of unitemized contributions, meaning donations of less than $200 each. PACS are not required to name those small donors in their filings with the FEC. The remaining money came through more than 700 different $200-plus contributions made by donors from all around the United States.
According to its FEC records, SarahPACs biggest expenditure during the reporting period was the more than $103,000 it spent on EDonation.com, a Virginia-based firm that specializes in online fundraising.
When Palin leaves the governors office at the end of the month, shell be able to use SarahPAC to underwrite the cost of politically related travel and appearances as well as to donate up to $10,000 each to federal candidates.
When she hits the trail, and when her book comes out, donations will really take off.
The Simi Valley, CA event in August should be an excellent kick off.
So from July 4th til now, she made another 200,000 bucks..That is AWESOME
As far as the Simi valley event, I was listening to John Ziegler today on the radio, he is attending the event, Sarah has NOT, I repeat NOT confirmed that she is attending the event. He thinks the media is spinning it like she is going so that in case she does not go, the media can say she backed out of another event. Wait for Sarah to confirm it herself
Update, 4:10 p.m.: Palin has collected at least $200,000 more for Sarah PAC since the reporting period closed at the end of last month, according to a source familiar with the numbers. Palins resignation announced on July 3 triggered a flood of donations to the PAC, the source added.
Stick that in your hats, or better yet, stick it where the sun don’t shine, enemies of Sarah!
Might want to give ‘em a call to find out. If nobody answers, then call the governor’s office direct up in Alaska, the anklebiters be damned.
OK, fair enough. I assumed she is waiting to officially step down as Gov. before confirming it. But you’re right, her confirmation is the only that matters.
That is exactly what I told my wife. As far as events go, don't believe anything until you get it straight from Sarah.
Add me, please? Many Thanks!!!

Yes but that list includes also former clients.
I assume none of the $733K can be used to pay lawyers in connection with responses to the false “ethics” allegations. Is there a separate fund for that purpose, to which we many contribute?
No threat???? ha ha ha ha ha hhhhhaaaaaa!
sign me up for palin pings!
I donated to Sarah Pac the day she announced her resignation. Her web site was asking for donations to beat the filing deadline but at that time it had already passed. My RNC letters have been ignored and will be until they grow a pair.
True, each are totally separate.
