SarahPAC rakes in $733k in six months (+ $450,000 in cash)
Politico ^ | July 13, 2009 | JOHN BRESNAHAN

Posted on 07/13/2009 11:38:27 AM PDT by SolidWood

Sarah Palin’s political action committee raised nearly $733,000 in the first six months of 2009 and has more than $450,000 in cash on hand, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.

While Republicans are hopeful that Palin will be a big fundraising help for them, her PAC hasn’t exactly been a campaign-finance ATM. Since its formation in late January, it appears to have made just two political contributions — $5,000 to Palin’s 2008 running mate, Sen. John McCain, and $5,000 to Alaska’s Republican senator, Lisa Murkowski.

The majority of the money raised by SarahPAC so far has come in the form of “unitemized contributions,” meaning donations of less than $200 each. PACS are not required to name those small donors in their filings with the FEC. The remaining money came through more than 700 different $200-plus contributions made by donors from all around the United States.

According to its FEC records, SarahPAC’s biggest expenditure during the reporting period was the more than $103,000 it spent on EDonation.com, a Virginia-based firm that specializes in online fundraising.

When Palin leaves the governor’s office at the end of the month, she’ll be able to use SarahPAC to underwrite the cost of politically related travel and appearances – as well as to donate up to $10,000 each to federal candidates.

“Sarah, IF she decides to run, will raise millions, but it won’t be from big ‘fat cat’ donors. She has said IF she ran, it would be a ‘grassroots campaign’...”

And it won’t be any foreign muslim vermin like what contributed to zer0’s campaign.

Also Meg Stapleton has issued a statement regarding her PAC, basically she made that 733,000 in a THREE month period, she said that April through June was a “dark” month since they were focusing more on raising money for her legal defense fund, she earned almost a million bucks in 3 months with not ONE fund raiser. I think that is extraordinary, but they gotta get some nice web designer to work on that site, it does look pretty cheesy. I am good with Dreamweaver, but HTML code isn’t my thing, if I knew how I would help make it more flashy

I donated again today to SarahPAC. I am maxed out at the “Alaska Fund Trust”.

I understand why Sarah did this. From what I have read, most politicians go to big shots and major corporations to set up PACs or Legal Defense Funds.

Sarah doesn’t want to OWE any big shot anything. She doesn’t want to be OWNED, like the big Zero. He owes every lefty cause in America big time......

Update, per C4P

“Update, 4:10 p.m.: Palin has collected at least $200,000 more for Sarah PAC since the reporting period closed at the end of last month, according to a source familiar with the numbers. Palin’s resignation — announced on July 3 — triggered a flood of donations to the PAC, the source added.”

Exactly, she is stuck between a rock and a hard place. She will always be grateful to John McCain, she may have her own private feelings towards him and the way he has behaved towards her but she will NEVER say one nasty thing about John McCain(his staff yes, but never McCain) she considers him a war hero and a great American, I think Sarah will not campaign for him, and not endorse him, she won’t get involved in that campaign, whoever wins, wins, but she won’t have anything to do with it because she knows what would happen

So basically she made a million bucks in a 6 month period, or 3 month period, whatever you wanna call it(Since in April-June according to Meg Stapleton she didn’t make that much at all, was considered a dark time due to the primary focus being on the defense fund) damn, she made a million bucks, NICE!!! And since her resignation, another 200,000..Just watch all these Governors and Senators who have Pac’s all start resigning

Palin's largest expenditure went to "Edonation.com/Campaign Solutions", the fundraising company run by Becki Donatelli and based in Alexandria, Virginia. Sarah PAC doled out roughly $106,000 to the firm for fundraising during the first six months of the year.

Donatelli and Palin parted ways in late April.

Then something is not right with the SarahPAC donation page. I sent a donation this weekend, and it went through:
Edonation 1 703-684-3435 VA US
