Sarah Palins political action committee raised nearly $733,000 in the first six months of 2009 and has more than $450,000 in cash on hand, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.
While Republicans are hopeful that Palin will be a big fundraising help for them, her PAC hasnt exactly been a campaign-finance ATM. Since its formation in late January, it appears to have made just two political contributions $5,000 to Palins 2008 running mate, Sen. John McCain, and $5,000 to Alaskas Republican senator, Lisa Murkowski.
The majority of the money raised by SarahPAC so far has come in the form of unitemized contributions, meaning donations of less than $200 each. PACS are not required to name those small donors in their filings with the FEC. The remaining money came through more than 700 different $200-plus contributions made by donors from all around the United States.
According to its FEC records, SarahPACs biggest expenditure during the reporting period was the more than $103,000 it spent on EDonation.com, a Virginia-based firm that specializes in online fundraising.
When Palin leaves the governors office at the end of the month, shell be able to use SarahPAC to underwrite the cost of politically related travel and appearances as well as to donate up to $10,000 each to federal candidates.

P.S. Of course the Palin-haters will attack her for giving 5 grands to McCain... but she knows gratitude and it was McCain who made her a national figure.
Book deals, speaking engagements...rake it in, Sarah. Your family deserves some comfort. You will have big bills to pay.
I told the RNC directly and to the point, not to expect much money from conservatives, and to remove me from their list since I will no longer be donating to them.
Wow, she gave $5000 to that b#tch Lisa Murkowski who called her a quitter when she announced her resignation?
Let’s hope SaraPac gets more selective.
Good for her. I know she won’t, but I wish she’d use some of it to file harassment charges against bloggers and Democrats who made her life miserable.
Good for her — there is plenty more waiting for her, based on what she chooses to do with her political future.
She gave it to her months ago from what it seems, before the b&tch Murkowski came out and said nasty things about her. Remember, it was months ago where Sarah said she would not run for Senate and said she would support Murkowski’s reelection, this was after the Presidential campaign.
Also, I am one of the contributors, let me tell ya, felt AWESOME in doing it
Ben Smith at Politico thinks the numbers are quite good for the first six months.
Commenters at Conservatives4Palin suggest that this is comparable to what Hillary and Obama had in the timeframe.
Yep. Too bad Sarah can’t ask for a refund on that money she gave her. I bet she wishes she can have it back
Yee! haaaaa! Here we go, gang!
Good six months of dough. I give every month. I have ALSO told the RNC to bug off, and when Newt’s people called me, I told them they are wasting their time.
I told them I give to SarahPAC. (I also maxed out at her Legal Defense Fund, “Alaska Fund Trust”.............)
When Sarah’s book comes out, she will sell more books than the big Zero, Slick and Hillary combined. Her family will be set for life.........
THEN she can really let the left have it!!!!
(if she wants to....)
I was reading the newspapers in and around Auburn NY, when she was there, (through the web) and 20,000 people showed up to see her. There was an interview I still think about.
The reporter was randomly interviewing those on the parade route. She found an Obama voter. She asked him what he was doing there........This is what he said, “I voted for Obama, but she is going to make history, so I wanted to see her.......”
She should have given $5000 to each of McCain’s and Murkowski’s primary opponents.
Please add me to the Sarah Palin Ping list
She shouldn’t have given a dime to McCain, but can you imagine John groveling to her begging for some scraps, I think that is sadder then the actual money she gave him.
McCain: Please Sarah, I need some money, pretty please, just a little bit to survive these next few months
Sarah: Ok fine, geez, stop begging, it’s pathetic
I wish I could donate but it would be against the rules.
LOL! I can vividly imagine Mac doing that!
That’s funny!
The MSM will choke when they see those numbers. :-)
