I actually find it good comedy value to look over Sludge’s site now and then. Whenever he has a BIG FONT STORY, it’s inevitably against the Dems, and links to some beat up bogus second-hand gossip piece in the Moonie Times.
A few weeks ago, when he had a big front page splash about McAulliffe using a Pearl Harbor speech to beat on the Repubs, I used his ‘anonymous tips’ form to email him a rebuke for giving such a minor, ridiculous, non-story such generous column inches, and ten minutes later it was pulled.
He did the same a week earlier when I bitched him out for pulling a single line out of an overwhelmingly positive Oceans 12 review, and making it appear as though the reviewer hated the movie.
Maybe it’s just coincidence, or maybe he’s easily led. I dunno, but I sure do enjoy pulling his leash now and then.”

Now you’d think someone who thought Letterman was wrong would have been horrified by that thread. But his take was that he was not only happy to wade into the muck but didnt care if the rumor was false.
