From the CIA's FAQ page -

10. Who oversees the CIA? Does it act on its own initiative?

Both the Congress and the Executive Branch oversee the CIA’s activities. In addition, the CIA is responsible to the American people through their elected representatives, and, like other government agencies, acts in accordance with US laws and executive orders. In the Executive Branch, the National Security Council—including the President, the Vice President, the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense—provides guidance and direction for national foreign intelligence and counterintelligence activities. In Congress, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as other committees, closely monitor the Agency’s reporting and programs. The CIA is not a policy-making organization; it advises the Director of National Intelligence on matters of foreign intelligence, and it conducts covert actions at the direction of the President.

Well, when the House Leader (and 3rd from the presidency) is a mentally-addled (obvious in numerous public appearances) irrational partisan political animal- who claims to have been “misled”

only when faced with being hoisted by her own petard

Who ya’ gonna believe, America? The CIA and its last honest director, Mike Hayden?

Or San Fran Nan?

Nancy’s got to go. Time for the GOP to find fix personalize and polarize.

Time for the GOP to find fix personalize and polarize.

A scorched earth policy is the only thing that "may" save it.

However, I have my doubts. I gave up on em long ago.

Pelosi is already a deeply polarizing figure. The media loves to talk about how unpopular Limbaugh is with the larger public, but Pelosi's approval (at least according to Gallup) is even lower than Rush's. But, you'd never know that listen to any of the broadcast networks.

I have never heard Pelosi described as either unpopular (when in fact she's actually deeply unpopular) or divisive. It's fascinating to the extent that she's as unpopular as she is, while still being shielded and supported by the MSM.

“Spooks” by their very nature must be secretive. Once they were authorized they became an independent force. Live with it. Oversight is virtually impossible.

It’s like any of the other bureaucracies - in theory it’s supervised by the executive and legislative branches; in practice it often sets its own laws, which are called ‘policies’.

If they can’t keep secrets, what good are they? Disband it, so the real culprits can get the blame for the next attack.

With Panetta at it’s helm and running to Pelosi and his Dem friends, with all their secrets, I would say we really dont have a CIA any longer. Morale there has to suck as each sale by Panetta places more hardship on them and as Holder threatens to prosecute them.
