No wonder skeptics consider the left's belief in man-made global warming as akin to a fad religion -- last week in Italy, G8 leaders pledged to not allow the Earth's temperature to rise more than 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
For its next act, the G8 can part the Red Sea.
While Obama was in Italy preaching big cuts in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, he was losing some of his flock in Washington. The House may have passed the 1,200-page cap-and-trade bill largely unread, but Senate Democrats are combing the fine print and not liking what they see. As Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said of the bill, "We need to be a leader in the world but we don't want to be a sucker."
Republicans who oppose the legislation are positively gleeful.

The Freeper threads during an active hurricane are the BEST source of info anywhere.Yes. And that applies to many 'subjects'. I remember the Christmas Tsunami. The posters on FR were WAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE.

Thanks for posting the article.
“G8 leaders pledged to not allow the Earth’s temperature to rise more than 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit. “
In what ‘time period’. Last I heard from the GW alarmists, their ‘worry’ was that the Average Global Temp. would rise 1-2 degrees F. over the next 100 years.
AND, if we are going to take the “Earth’s temperature”, just exactly where is it’s rectum?

I remember that heat wave in the 80’s. High pressure system sitting over TX for a month. Here in MO, we had a massive string of days over ninety degrees and saw some 110 degree days I think.

Oh please send some of that down here now! (Houston) I just got my electric bill and it was $544! We are in a heat wave that started early this summer and we havnt had a break.
Is that unusual? The average July high in Houston according to weather.com is 94F. I live in New England and the past two years, especially from last December on, have been way below average.

I used to live in Sedona (worked in Flagstaff). Summer weekends, the highways were impossible to get around on, what with all the tourists and folks escaping the lowlands. One summer they actually had to close Slide Rock State Park because the water was contaminated from overuse.

It must be the economy then, because this place seemed pretty reasonable for crowds last night. There were plenty of people in the streets, but not major crowds. I didn't stop by the restaurant on our grounds, but for a highly rated resort it seemed empty, even though it's supposed to be at full occupancy.

Well...thanks for taking the heat off us :-) And you have a nice FR about page. Your Home Town harbor pic is a beauty.
[btw, I copied your Mein Furher pic for my files, just had to ;-)] For fun I checked your town's weather forecast from 'Weather Underground' and I think I found maybe why all the 'experts' say Global warming is *real* ...
One "Official" APRSWXNET reporting station shows a current temperature of .... 120oF
This obviously wrong as they have another 'APRSWXNET' current temp reading of 85
oF above that. But some Moonbat will enter the 120
oF reading into their computers data bank and wah-la --- Global Warming.

Their belief that they can limit the increase to 2 degrees Celsius by joining hands at the G-8 summit and issuing a statement that this is their goal, should have generated disabling cases of laughter worldwide. This reminds me of the "peace" activists who thought they could bring world peace by sitting around in a forest, joining hands, and meditating. I think that happened back in the 80s. Of course, the "peace" activists didn't have the power to affect people's lives... unlike Congress.
