There’s nothing wrong with asking them to look at something and make a judgment call.

I'll start doing that. I've never been contacted by a mod except when I've pinged them for something but I guess if they don't like me abusing the abuse button they'll let me know.

The Mods usually only get upset if one keeps hitting “Abuse” for the same post. They may not get to it immediately. But they will look.
