How long have you been here? Do you remember what FR was like back in, say, 1998? (Have you gotten that far in my history yet?) Do you know what it’s like to see a great site crumble before your eyes? Do you know what it’s like to care enough to try to fix it?
Every thread about trivialities (”OMG! The Obamas put a swingset on the WH lawn! How classless!... PS - does it have monkeybars? LOL”) and outright falsehoods and hateful, racist comments is yet another demerit against this site that takes it further away from true conservatism. Some of us care enough to push back against that. I’ve nearly given up and many times over the past 6 months or so I have contemplated just walking away, and I still may do that (do I hear cheers?) but I thought I’d give it the ol’ college try and try to keep this site on a more productive path. If it’s too late, and this is how you all like it now, more power to ya. But it will get us nowhere electorally or politically and I hope you realize that.
Your complete and utter lack of understanding of human psychology is startling. I’m not sure why I find that surprising. Perhaps you should try to figure out why like-minded people discuss relatively unimportant topics and don’t mention them. (I believe the technical term is “small talk.”) You may also want to look up the term “gossip” as well its general relation to the objective truth of a matter.
Making a statement like “it doesn’t get us anywhere electorally or politically,” while true, is totally irrelevant. Nobody will campaign on the fact that they’ve put a swingset on the lawn. You don’t understand this because you’re too busy playing Message Board Cop (or whatever the hell you want to call yourself) to realize that you no longer fit in here. That’s fine, of course - we do support freedom of expression here at FR.
OK... I call BS. Just because your account is old doesn't mean you are the person who opened the account.
Does anybody actually know this person? Will anybody stand up for saquin?
You clearly have a different sense of humor than some here, I was watching some of the old Dean martin Roast’s and man some of the things that were said on there makes you cringe as it would be so inappropriate now. But i think you may have to separate true racism from people who just have a bad or different sense of humor..
Though, I have always been a big fan of Don Rickles.
JimRob doesn't share your feelings.
