If she does that, she’s way off my list and there is no way I would support her. Then it would be all about her and not the cause. Third party efforts are destructive. I do not believe she will do that. She’s not that stupid or egotistical.

I’m thinking about another reason that is neither stupid nor egotistical: she’s been hurt and disgusted by the attacks that have come at her from within the party. Most notably from within the McCain campaign and from editorialists like Peggy Noonan.
She might also want to disassociate herself from the Mark Sanfords, the David Vitters and the John Ensigns of the Republican Party and from the inept Michael Steele as party leader who has already publically written her off.

Cool.

The only ones that would have a problm with this are those that are more about the GOP than they are conservatism. I don’t give a damn what party a person signs on to, so long as they govern and vote conservative. IF the Democrat does that, she should support them. Same goes for the Republicans. IF they can be counted on, then support them. If not, don’t campaign for them.

But so far as I can tell she doesn’t owe the Republican Party a damn thing. Not after the way they’ve treated her. She only owes conservatives who have had her back. And conservatives wants conservatives in office. Period.

I agree about all those with the exception of Steele.
