An outbreak of swine flu occurred in Mexico this spring that eventually affected 4,910 Mexican citizens and resulted in 85 deaths. By the time it spread to the United States, the virus caused only mild cases of flu-like illness.
Thanks to air travel and the failure of public health officials to control travel from Mexico, the virus spread worldwide. Despite predictions of massive numbers of deaths and the arrival of doomsday, the virus has remained a relatively mild disease, something we know happens each year with flu epidemics.
Worldwide, there have only been 311 deaths out of 70,893 cases of swine flu. In the United States, 27,717 cases have resulted in 127 deaths. Every death is a tragedy, but such a low death rate should not be the basis of a draconian government policy.
It is helpful to recall that the Centers for Disease Control with the collusion of the media, constantly tell us that 36,000 people die from the flu each year, a figure that has been shown to be a lie. In this case, we are talking about 300 plus deaths for the entire world.
This virus continues to be an enigma for virologists. In the April 30, 2009 issue of Nature, a virologist was quoted as saying,Where the hell it got all these genes from we dont know. Extensive analysis of the virus found that it contained the original 1918 H1N1 flu virus, the avian flu virus (bird flu), and two new H3N2 virus genes from Eurasia. Debate continues over the possibility that swine flu is a genetically engineered virus.
Naturally, vaccine manufacturers have been in a competitive battle to produce the first vaccine. The main contenders have been Baxter Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, the latter of which recently acquired the scandal-ridden Chiron vaccine company.

There are much safer ways to protect oneself from this flu virus, such as higher doses of vitamin D3, selective immune enhancement using supplements, and a good diet."
And always remember what your mother used to say, "WASH YOUR HANDS!"
I have no intention of getting this vaccine.
Ditto.
Never forget we live in Obamaworld now. Anything they say is “for our own good” should be avoided like the plague.
I decided right then and there that I would never get any flu shot and neither has my wife or our children. Guess what? None of us have ever got the flu either (praise the Lord!). We still get a cold or allergy problems once in a while, but we try to eat right, wash our hands often when the flu is going around, and take general precautions, and so far it has worked.
I never felt that a vaccine made from last year's flu strain was any sure proof against the current year's flu anyway, so I am not willing to take the chance of being injected with a tainted vaccine. I'd rather deal with the flu (on the off-chance I would even get it). I just don't trust flu shots.
Nuff said.
Tamaflu works well. I got the flu this past year, but had a very short run because I was in tuned enough to the aches and pains to know I was coming down with it. Went to the doctor, test came back negative, but he gave me a Rx for Tamaflu anyway - just in case it was incubating. I got it filled. Sure enough, 2 days later, I had a full-blown case. Took the Tamaflu - pretty much over it 2 days later. Great stuff!! Won’t take any vaccines feds recommend. Doctor recommended maybe, but not feds.
Ten years ago I would get colds, flu, back strains, all of the “normal” maladies.
After 10 year with full vitamin and mineral regimen, NO COLDS, NO FLU, heal quickly after sprains and strains, plusmore energy, etc.
Unless I break a leg, have rare disease, or need a coroner, I will continue to READ THE MEDICAL JOURNALS.........and treat myself......leave me alone Barry!
I concur.
And what's the worse than can happen if you “catch the flu”...you're ill for a week to ten days as opposed to getting “immunized” and possibly winding up like your friend...”confined to a wheel chair till his death!”
All I know is that none of our family have received any flu shots over the years and none of us have come down with the flu, either.
Same here.
But instead of all the vitamins etc. I just made sure to go out once a month to a good prime rib dinner and a whiskey.
No problems for the last 10 years.
They don't make it from last years flu. Despite what so many on FR think doctors are neither fools nor evil.
Never said they were. I've heard reported stories on both radio and television that indicate that the flu shot you get this year is derived from the strain of the virus that everyone else caught last year. While that may or may not be true, I've never even once heard that a current flu shot was available that was specifically made to protect against the current strain of flu going around. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't. Either way, I haven't had a flu shot at any time in my adult life (I may have had one when my parents made me get one) and I don't get the flu. Neither do my wife or children.
Crap.
Unlike a lot of other people, Russell Blaylock seems to be a credible voice.
So we’re basically between a rock and a hard place. You have to weigh whether you think the swine flu is more dangerous, or whether you think the vaccine is more dangerous.
Ping for comment.
For JLLH (and anyone else) — here’s some information about this - Tamiflu. You might take note of the “resistance” that they mention in the article, and also, I’m not sure about the effectiveness for the H1N1 virus, as I haven’t had the time to look at that yet. It may or may not be effective.
