Challenge them to take the pledge - it's something no American - right or left should be against
Self | 7/10/2009 | Letter to Senator

I wrote my Senator (if you can call a flaming radical left liberal Udall "my Senator") and challenged him to take the pledge. It is something they are using to force things through so they can say they are following their agenda. The light of day is the Democrats worst nightmare.

1. Any bill that would increase taxes, expand federal powers would have to be completely written, published and read by every elected official. Demand that a cost/benefit analysis and impact study would have to be done and published along with the bill.

2. The bill would have to be published and available to the public for two weeks of comment time prior to the vote.

3. During this time the public could go to their Reps website and ask questions express concerns and the Senator would use a portion of that web space to state and defend his position as well as answer questions and concerns.

4. All senators and representatives would have to sign that they had read and studied and understand the bill in it's entirety 5 days prior to the vote.

America has the greatest health care in the world and no one that is critically ill is turned away. We have access to health care, some of us don't have health insurance. Just the opposite of Canada and Britain in which everyone has government paid health insurance but they lack access to health care. What do the Brits do? They go to Spain or Poland. What do the Canadians do? They come to the US. What will we all do if the Democrats get their hands on our health insurance?

His party's answer is to take the only part of the health care system that is government run and the only part that is broken because the government runs it and expand it. That is LUNACY.

Then there is the Climate bill - passed by 219 representatives that had never read it because it hadn't been written yet. they are willing to steal from consumers (take under false pretenses) small businesses and give power to a new agency that will have the power to regulate private property and private industry, effectively turning this country into a centralized government (Marxism or Facism.)

The least we should be able to expect from our so called representatives is for them to be informed.

These are common sense items that many voters thought were taking place all along. Every Representative should be challenged to take the pledge. After all it they wouldn't purchase a car, house or other large ticket item without reading the contract -they should be expected to do the same when it involves our money.

Our only course of action if they do not take the pledge would be to start Recall proceedings against them in their home state for dereliction of duty.

I don't think they could defend not taking the pledge because it would show that they did not believe in that transparancy thing that they all like to talk about.

I see the makings of a new “Contract with America” here...any conservative Republicans out there want to take up the mantle and run with this? I think Americans would leap at the chance to support candidates who pledge this. I would only add one. “I will not run for re-election beyond two terms.”

They’d defend not taking the pledge by saying, “These are complicated times. The Pledge is a simple answer to complex issues. We need to focus our energy on solving these complex issues.” In other words, they’d trot out the classic non-answer answer. And the media would let them get away with it.

The problem is, the only one out there with the balls to stand up to the dems...is a woman...and she just resigned her position as Governor.

Regardless of the excuse, they would show their true colors of not having the best interests of their constituents and instead be pushing an agenda that no one once and will hurt the economy.
This last time they pulled every devious trick there was to push it through before the tax payers could find out what is in it.
They are on the wrong side of every issue and the only way they can force it on us is to lie, cheat steal and pay for a huge propaganda campaign.
