Texas Requests Federal Loan DALLAS, TX

Texas expects the federal government to confirm next week that it's providing a federal loan to cover the state's rising unemployment benefits.

KERA's Shelley Kofler reports Texas requested the loan because the state's fund is on a path to go broke.

Earlier this year the Texas Workforce Commission warned that the fund that covers unemployment benefits in Texas would dip below mandated levels by October.

Ann Hatchitt of the Workforce Commission says the state has requested a $160-million dollar interest-free loan from the federal government for the month of July.

Hatchitt says the state could be making similar loan requests each month. She says the state may have to sell bonds to repay the loans. The insurance taxes paid into the fund by employers could also be raised.

Oh, the Communist will tell you illegals add to our economy and are a major benefit...

Of course the people claiming this are all graduates of the Tokyo Rose school of propaganda, many of which now occupy the White House.

Hatchitt: We have until the end of December 2010 to repay any money we borrow interest free. That is an excellent option and that's the first option we are going to take.

I don't think this is such an "excellent option". what if the economy isn't any better by the end of next year? the green shoots are turning out to be dead weeds, bank leverage is getting worse, unemployment is getting worse, government debt is out of control, etc.

$160 million?

From the Feds?

This is chump change.

I suspect it's a paperwork protocol thing.

We don't need no Yankee funds, period.

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry, joining a handful of his fellow Southern Republican leaders, said Thursday that he was rejecting $556 million in federal stimulus money for unemployed Texans because it had too many strings attached.

Guess it’s time to reverse course and borrow the money instead........

U.S. Politicians never take responsibility for anything and regularly stand in front of the cameras with their usual entourage of government groupies praising each other, telling all what a wonderful job their doing, and then go behind closed doors and give themselves pay raises.

We’ve got so many people swarming into to Texas daily and they are all hunting jobs. Just not that many slots to fill, tho we are better off than almost every other sate.

But Bill Allaway, president of the business-funded Texas Taxpayers and Research Association, told a House panel Tuesday that if the stimulus money is rejected, employers that pay into the state’s unemployment fund would be hit with a huge tax increase to cover the fund’s deficit

I suspect it's a paperwork protocol thing.

Texas Workforce Commission (TWC):

In all, the Workforce Commission reports employment fell by 24,700 jobs in May, bringing the 12 month job loss total to 222,600.

Why do I think Alaska is about to get really popular?

Then they'll have big unemployment problems.

Meanwhile, there are probably 25 million illegals in this country taking American jobs...

Profits regardless of consequences...With a big factor being unscrupulous business owners hire illegals, because they work for much less and think company benefits mean a 15 minute break.

Remember some years ago, when the Communist tried to convince everyone they only worked in the Lettuce fields?

Horse sh*t...Look at LA...Not a lettuce field in sight, yet millions of illegals.

The Communist lied.

Nowadays, they drive trucks, have taken over the warehousing industry, drive forklifts, control all aspects of the construction industry, services industry, restaurant, cooks, work in HVAC, landscaping, and all manufacturing..

Quarter million eh?

ok...

FAIR Estimate - FAIR’s estimate of the state’s illegal alien population as of 2007 is about 1,740,000 persons. This is part of an overall estimate of the U.S. illegal alien population of about 13 million persons.

One point seven MILLION illegal aliens in Texas.

Huh, what should we do? Hummmmmm.

If they can read & write English and have some mortgage or related sales experience I’d talk to every one of them that can work on commission. That goes for the other 49 states, as well. Many people are afraid of commission, but if they’re not, we want to talk with them!

Oh yeah, this is just flippin’ great for me...

“Wife Unit” starts teaching next month...If we have that income coming in, I may go ahead and take myself off the unemployment and go out to work on my new line...

“Would you like to super size that order?”

Sad state of affairs we live in...
