Rep. Henry Waxman on passing health care reform: "Failure is really not an option on health care, this is a make or break issue for President Obama and the Democrats in the Congress."
"I can't imagine some of the Democrats in difficult districts going home and running for re-election in 2010 and saying 'well, I don't have a health care bill," Waxman said.

I vote for “break.”
Three and half years as a lame duck ain't all bad.
Break.
This is the same idiot who said Republicans who wanted the Marxist cap and tax bill to go down in flames were “rooting against America”.
Somebody needs to show Mrs. Waxman’s little Henry the latest Obama/’RAT poll numbers. Americans seem to be just a little “angry” about having CommieCare shoved down their throats.
I can’t imagine some of the Democrats in difficult districts going home and running for re-election in 2010 and saying ‘well, I don’t have a health care bill,” Waxman said.
I can’t imagine one coming to my distict and saying they did vote to screw the American people over once again.
Yeah. It will make the Democrat/Socialists and it will break US.
I am a bit different than Waxman. Icant see these Dems going back to their re-election campaigns and saying. Well: I just sold your health care down the toilet. Now you go to a clinic and wait. You old people will just have to die , and the cost is astronimical. Most Doctors will leave the country or quit practicing . Your taxes will double to pay for it.You can thank me and Henry Waxman for this friggin fiasco.
Hey Waxman, just jump into your nostril and disappear.
I hope he fails.
1.) I am taxing your health benefits, even though Obama promised we would not do that?
2.) I am destroying Medicare, as it is currently understood, so that we can let old people die, since killing off expensive elderly people is the only way we can afford to insure illegal aliens and drug addicts?
3.) I am creating a “public option” which will, eventually, put your private insurance company out of business, so you will NOT be able to keep the coverage you have now?
4.) I am forcing those who do not want to buy health insurance, on their own, to buy it, with a “mandate” much like you are forced to buy auto insurance.
I think it would be easier to vote NO, for any member of Congress, than it would be to explain this stuff in the bill, if it passes!
Here is information directly from the proposal, do you think our government can afford to do all this?
(a) In General- All individuals residing in the United States (including any territory of the United States) are covered under the USNHC Program entitling them to a universal, best quality standard of care. Each such individual shall receive a card with a unique number in the mail. An individual’s social security number shall not be used for purposes of registration under this section.
(b) Registration- Individuals and families shall receive a United States National Health Insurance Card in the mail, after filling out a United States National Health Insurance application form at a health care provider. Such application form shall be no more than 2 pages long.
(c) Presumption- Individuals who present themselves for covered services from a participating provider shall be presumed to be eligible for benefits under this Act, but shall complete an application for benefits in order to receive a United States National Health Insurance Card and have payment made for such benefits.
(d) Residency Criteria- The Secretary shall promulgate a rule that provides criteria for determining residency for eligibility purposes under the USNHC Program.
(e) Coverage for Visitors- The Secretary shall promulgate a rule regarding visitors from other countries who seek premeditated non-emergency surgical procedures. Such a rule should facilitate the establishment of country-to-country reimbursement arrangements or self pay arrangements between the visitor and the provider of care.
The care includes at least the following: (1) Primary care and prevention. (2) Inpatient care. (3) Outpatient care. (4) Emergency care. (5) Prescription drugs. (6) Durable medical equipment. (7) Long-term care. (8) Palliative care. (9) Mental health services. (10) The full scope of dental services (other than cosmetic dentistry). (11) Substance abuse treatment services. (12) Chiropractic services. (13) Basic vision care and vision correction (other than laser vision correction for cosmetic purposes). (14) Hearing services, including coverage of hearing aids. (15) Podiatric care.
I hope he’s right and I hope it breaks the Dems.
conversely, if they go back to their consituents having passed that smorgasboard of new taxes coming out of the Baucus committe, I’m sure it will do wonders for their careers...
I vote for government mandated surgery on Waxman’s nose.
of course there are some that can’t see going home With the bill.
Hope so. But if Republicans and possibly Democrat dissidents can deflect the nationalized health care assault yet again, perhaps Republicans can organize around a very different all-free-market plan, not another Dubya “Democrat lite” plan designed to supposedly neutralize this “Democrat” issue, which may peter out on its own with time ...if conditions change.
