VATICAN CITY (AP) — President Barack Obama sat down with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican on Friday for a meeting in which frank but constructive talks were expected between two men who agree on helping the poor but disagree on abortion and stem cell research.

I am relieved to see she had the decency to dress appropriately. I was afraid we were going to see another kitchen curtain extravaganza.

That’s a really ugly dress. No wonder the TV didn’t show her getting out of the car before the meeting — or perhaps she arrived separately.
We’ve got the boob belt on again, and haven’t I seen that huge chest bow on another outfit — in white?
At least she has her arms and head covered. And at least the President’s suit fits today (unlike yesterday’s pictures).
It’s appropriate to dress like you’re attending a funeral? (I ask because I don’t know for sure.)
Appropriately? Looks to me like she’s wearing Islamic garb to show support for Islam while slapping Christianity in the face (just my opinion).
Pretty soon we will be reading the Pope should be denied communion.
Well, she did cover up her “toned” arms, but could not forgo the boob belt. : o /
Thank for posting Maggie. When my husband and I saw they were about to meet in private, we went out and said the rosary for the pope. I would love to know what was discussed.

I’m not sure about the actual rules. You see a lot of black because they wear a lot of black in Italy. Many women wear black for a full year after someone in their family dies.
But, I believe that Laura Bush and Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush wore color with a black mantilla. Does anyone remember?

Michelle Obama looks genuinely happy. That doesn’t happen very often.
That’s because right before this meeting she got a new $6K purse.
