An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.
--------------------------------------------
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.
a great example for the simple minded to understand if that is possible...
I feel like Chris Farley to Paul McCartney: “Is that true?”
Great professor.

Tradgedy of the Commons. People are doomed to repeat it if they don’t learn from others’ mistakes.
“Oh but we can do it right this time. We just need more” a) money b) time c) resources d) the ‘right’ people e) fill in the blank
Snake oil salesmen. Don’t fall for it.

Yes, but as long as Obama voters keep getting free stuff, they couldn’t care less. Problem is, they actually believe the supply to be unending.
This little thought exercise has been used at our children’s charter school for two years running. Our third and fifth graders said it was a great example of what is going on systemically.
None of the second through fifth graders thought it was very smart (in fact they commonly told the teachers that they were “crazy”). Makes you wonder why half the adults in the country have difficulty figuring it out. Maybe some schools are better than ever. I’m certainly sold on this type of curriculum if it can make the kids smarter than most of their parents.
Actually, I believe it was Mike S. Adams at UNC-Wilmington who conducted this little experiment.
And, yes, he IS a great professor.
We need to be reminded to repeat the truths that most liberals are blind to seeing or do see them and still do not change their thinking.
Maybe that is the change that is required ... for the liberals to change their thinking to reality and not pipe dreams.
I like this explanation from a mid-western friend:
Imagine you are a dairy farmer. In Capitalism the cow and the milk it produces are yours. In Socialism the cow is yours but the milk belongs to the government. In Communism both the cow and the milk belong to the government.
Regards.
Sounds like a good parable but it’s probably not a true story. No way a good student would agree to average his grades with a bunch of losers.
Because he/she had been taught badly to that point. I have a stepdaughter, excellent student, very smart, that would go for that initially. She’s been raised in Cary, NC with all that upwardly mobile liberalism in the public school system.
The lib solution is to give everyone a paper “A”
