Why We'll Leave L.A.
Wall Street Journal ^ | 07/10/09 | Rick Newcombe

Posted on 07/10/2009 8:20:58 AM PDT by DFG

If New Yorkers fantasize that doing business here in Los Angeles would be less of a headache, forget about it. This city is fast becoming a job-killing machine. It's no accident the unemployment rate is a frightening 11.4% and climbing.

I never could have imagined that, after living here for more than three decades, I would be filing a lawsuit against my beloved Los Angeles and making plans for my company, Creators Syndicate, to move elsewhere.

personally every conservative in that state should move out and move to other states like AZ, CO,NV and NM thus making them every red solid states

Now imagine if every conservative moved out of the north east which is lost cause.
They all move to VA,NC,FL,SC, and thus making them all red states for some time to come.

election time we win

Missouri has a flat tax in the works. This means zero corporate taxes if it gets on the ballot and is passed.

The right could also employ the Cloward-Piven strategy, by moving to blue states and demanding the public services that they are entitled to. IOW, move to the liberal enclaves and refuse to work. Overwhelm the liberal system, make it deliver what it promises.

Try again

Missouri has a fairtax in the works. This means zero corporate taxes if it gets on the ballot and is passed.

In 2004 we saw the writing on the wall and left our beloved San Diego. My 70 year old husband was born there and it was particularly tough on him, but we never looked back..and I’m glad we did.

The partial move out is possible for some. You can spend up to 180 days a year in the good weather, and have a permanent residence in a tax friendly state. HQ opertions in a business friendly state..manufacturing in a business friendly state. Many manufacturers who sell to CA moved out and build elsewhere. Fewer restrictions on emisssions, lower utilities, lower realestate prices etc etc.

I lived up there for a bit and my wife is from Quincy born and bred

We now live down here in St Augustine FL and this is what she says.

It was the best move I have ever done in my life, I cannot believe how much that state has changed, my money was going to liberal agendas and my vote was worthless.

If you move I wish you the very best I really do.
Going up there now feels like a foreign country to us both, the way they drive, the arrogance, the liberal politics, pot holes, emissions, car testing stickers etc

Here we have none of that not even a car sticker or emissions.

It is so much cheaper here and though I am now 40 my health has improved so much since leaving there.

Wow. Creator's Syndicate handled a lot of big names. With the newspapers dying, they're probably hurting, also. NY and LA are bleeding jobs, and these are people who were making a go of it.

I mentioned this several months ago, but with the revenues falling, expect property tax rates to go up, and traffic enforcement to become much more aggressive. Expect new seat belt campaigns, red light cameras, and for the IRS to start scrutinizing everything. They've reached the point where they no longer even look for legal justifications to grab money. They just declare you owe it.

His “beloved LA.” He has been drinking the kool aide far too long. The mayor thinks he is running Tijuana and he IS.

“If I could sell my G-D condo, I’d be otta here!”

Sad to say but much like as in NY, government is dominated minorities on the make. There’s no sense of fairness, integrity or concern for the common good.
