Party of Franken, Party of Palin (BARF)
Rasmussen ^ | July 10, 2009 | Joe Conason

Posted on 07/10/2009 5:12:08 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

In victory, the Republicans grew increasingly extreme and overconfident, encouraging figures such as Ms. Palin to follow their most extreme instincts. In defeat, the Democrats at last began to refurbish their progressive ideology, reconnect with working American families and rediscover their will to fight.

As an author and radio personality, Franken made a significant contribution to his party's renewal. He was ready for prime-time politics in ways that Palin, the sudden star who could barely utter a coherent paragraph, was not.

Beneath the glittering surface, she exhibited profound weakness.

Behind the joking persona, he showed moral and intellectual strength.

"...encouraging figures such as Ms. Palin to follow their most extreme instincts..."

I'm still yearning to hear what it is, exactly, that is extreme about her views. Seems to me her conservative values are set in bedrock, whereas the left slips ever leftward, and therein lies the controversy. When I hear leftists say stuff like "How dare she not abort her retarded baby?" it only reinforces that opinion.

Still getting ready for the civil war, BTW.

Conason ascribes vitory to repubs and defeat to dems. The dems control both legislative houses and the White House.

What is Conason smoking?

“Beneath the glittering surface, she (Palin) exhibited profound weakness.”

“Behind the joking persona, he (Franken) showed moral and intellectual strength.”

If there was ever any doubt about whether the World is truly upside down these two sentences should clarify that fact. This writer is completely delusional and there are millions like him. Welcome to Newspeak ver. 2009.

Let’s just revisit that one in about 6 months, shall we, Joe? I will still be proud to be a member of the Party of Palin. And if you still want to be part of the Party of Franken, then frankly, you deserve each other.

Joe Conason sounds like he's been out partying with Joe Biden's daughter.

BTW, hasn't been a story in the news about her since March 30, 2009. So what happened to her? Did they put her in irons out at the Biden compound?

All America wants to know.

Now, about how Al Franken got elected ~ he did it the old fashioned way ~ the Democrats counted the votes until he had more of them than Senator Coleman, and that was the end of that story.

Franken is no kind of man if he will accept victory in those terms ~ but that doesn't mean he's not a typical Democrat.

They're all criminals.

No, I don't detect any prejudice or "journalistic" bias here.

Of course,

Stem Cell Research
Abortion on demand
Gay Marriage
Taxing Health Care
Appologizing for America
Unfettered Illegal Immigration
Nationalizing Banks and Auto Companies
Rewarding Democratic supports and Labor Unions
Supporting Marxist Dictators
Higher Taxes, and Cap and Trade

These are all strong family values that the Democrats are promoting with their Marxist agenda.

Bizarro Obama World. (Hat tip to Seinfeld). Truth=lies, lies=truth and Big Media regurgitates the Dem talking points day in and day out. If a Dem says it, it must be true! Get with the program!

Stem cell research is good. Dems are for EMBRYONIC stem cells. There is a huge difference.

To be fair, it DOES remain to be seen whether Mr Franken can competently discharge the duties of a senator. Perhaps he will be able to do so; anything on this earth is possible. However, IMO, odds are that his election will replace Caligula’s elevation of his horse to the Roman senate as the most farcical event in western political history.

That is hilarious in a sickening sort of way

“...encouraging figures such as Ms. Palin to follow their most extreme instincts.”

Un-freaking believable. What exactly is EXTREME about faith and family? Sorry, but the author of this craptastic article is clearly the extremist here. Most Americans have far more in common with Governor Palin than the so-called journalists in traditional media.

As another article posted points out, her actions as Governor weren’t even particularly “far-right conservative”. She was limited-government, against taxes, for making government ethical and responsive to the people. She didn’t push social issues.

She actually seems to be smeared more for what her supporters say than what she has actively done in her career.

I haven’t heard from Joe Conason since he was on TV a lot during the Klintoon scandals defending the hick for getting hummers from his trollop.
