Just go to the LINK here, hit the little arrow below the photo, and video will stream from Japanese TV today. Takes a few seconds to load.
Lots of action.
Link will be good for another 24 hours or so.
Goes inside the command/control center for nuclear launch of ICBMs from Montana (Malmstron AF Base, US Air Force) and also shows US commandoes in action in anti-nuke terrorist training. A "don't mess with us" statement is also issued by a US nuke command military spokesman--thankfully so.
Eagles Up.

I think the timing of this, letting in a Japanese TV Network film crew, a first for them, is decidedly to ratchet up the pressure on North Korea. I would hope so at least. Enjoy the video.

Indeed a message to the DPRK.
At least the missile base commander has the guts to stand up to Jong-Ill.

It is a nice video clip.
And (without the Japanese narration voice- over) entirely in English so every Freeper will get it.
A nice video indeed.

Thanks for the post, AIT - I really enjoyed that. And, though I'm happily married, I enjoyed the cute newsreader, too. :)
Have you a recommendation for a good English-language source of Japanese news available online?

You can try Daily Yomiuri and Japan Times, but they can be a bit Left. Sankei is good, but does not go in English. There is also Daily Mainichi, too. Kyodo News for straight wire service type stuff.
And then AmericanInTokyo for the really good stuff.

How did they manage to get a security pass to enter the base? You need to be cleared in order to enter a base with nuclear weapons or materials.

I have never heard any media allowed in SAC nuclear missile and bomber bases. The base commander needs to be replaced.

There hasn’t been any media on a SAC base for about 17 years. Before that, media had limited, controlled access.

I want to know who gave civilians(especially foreign media) security clearance to enter a classified facility that houses nuclear weapons?

There is enough megatonnage in those silos to turn Russia into a gigantic ashtray.

Civilians constantly come and go on military bases. You don't have to have a clearance to enter a military base. The Military has Public Affairs Officers who frequently escort media into things the military wants publicized (Get it?)
Before you ask the next question, what is your military experience?
To: OwenKellogg
But the civilians are generally controlled in certain areas. There even civilians that live on the base. They are not allowed in places where there are nuclear missiles

I would say anywhere that nuclear materials are housed.
