On the whole, that’s correct. They can’t even give tylenol to a kid without parental permission. But they can give condoms to minors in many school systems. And in many states, they can take a kid to a clinic for an abortion without notifying the parents.

So, I suspect that if the government really wants to do this, they will find a way to do it, one way or another.

They won’t. Their goal is to allow as many as possible to receive the vaccination without an associated inconvenience or cost. If the vaccinations are free and received at school, a large number of students will be vaccinated. This is the goal, and it should be enough to effectively limit transmission of the virus.

Not that I agree with it, but the theory behind giving birth control and abortion without parental consent is that kids won’t talk to their parents about sex. This excuse does not apply when talking about the flu.

That is what I’m afraid of. People keep telling me not to worry because they can’t do it without ‘permission’, but it could easily happen. They would just claim there was a mix-up with the paperwork or it was just too urgent a matter to wait for permission slips in the interest of ‘public health’ and then what do you do? The deed is done. Once again, we will have a talk with her- no shots at school- no matter what. Luckily this is high school and not elementary where younger kids might not understand or remember and just plain would go along with whatever teachers or others in authority told them to do. I find this to be a truly scary and Orwellian situation that I even need to be worrying about this.
