Bottled Water Labels Lacking...(Hussein & Co. Coming for your Evian)
AP via aol ^ | 07/08/09

Consumers know less about the water they pay dearly for in bottles than what they can drink almost for free from the tap because the two are regulated differently, congressional investigators and nonprofit researchers say in new reports. Both the Government Accountability Office and the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research and advocacy organization, recommend in reports released Wednesday that bottled water be labeled with the same level of information municipal water providers must disclose.

Another horrible, must-solve-now terrifying problem that’s slaughtering millions and throwing literally generations of US citizens out of their homes and endangering their national security. Thank heaven we’ve got somebody competent in the White House who can address these issues with diversity and inclusiveness.

As a semi-old fart, I drink my water straight from the tap. St. Louis county has long had among the best water quality in the world. The rest of the US is not too much different.

Buying water in a bottle is a joke.

How long before Zero’s water czar puts a monitoring camera on my faucets?

I guess the water bottling companies didn't pony up enough coin to the Obama campaign.

It's an expensive lesson they'll learn.

It should read Water - Ingredients: Water.

But no, it’s so-and-so parts per million of flouride, chlorine, gnat crap & fish pee.

You must be thinking of Mayor Dailey’s OLD CHICAGO brand of bottled water ... now with 30% more heavy metals.

I'd take hard water and all it's calcium any day over soft water. We occassionally stay on a island where there's a system supplying soft water - you can't wash the darn soap off your body in the shower - it's like it's gliding over the soap!

I'm a semi-old fart in one of the parts of the country that is very much different. Our water is, at best, questionable. Twice a year I clean the screens inside the faucets to remove all the black, stringy, slimy gunk that collects there. Several times a year, the drains clog with it. This is our “city water”.

At the same time, I consider it part of the cost of living here to purchase water filters and/or purchase water. All I really want to know is if the water in the jugs comes from a municipal facility whose pipes don't grow slimy fur.

My water is so hard it doesnt even need pipes. It forms it’s own.

My favorite question to bottled-water drinkers is, “How do you know they didn’t extract that water downstream from a bear peeing in it?”

I thought Penn and Teller showed that most bottled water is bottled from municipal sources anyways, so if my city water utility going to have to put a label on my faucet????
