I know of several people who are trying this stuff, and reporting good results.
The article said — A new study conducted by researchers at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland shows that a century-old drug, methylene blue, may be able to slow or even cure Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Well, now..,. if I put methylene blue in my coffee, I should be doing *real good* then... LOL...
That’s great! I hate to say it, but there is so much money involved companies and organizations will probably try to cover it up.

ARe they participating in a study, or is it available for anyone to try? I have a step father who is suffering from Alzheimers, and I am very interested in this. If you could give me any info you have I would appreciate it. Thanks
Are raindrops a different size than other water drops? And is this a homeopathic medicine?
If this works, the Embryonic Stem Cell people won't be happy.
Unless they mix it with extract of infant, I don’t think that Michael J. Fox will be interested.
Used in a somewhat higher concentration - say, a couple of milliliters in a jug of cheap wine - an imbiber will find themselves pissing Kelly green the next morning. This principle was applied at my fraternity house every October for the incoming freshmen to general hilarity.
Isn’t methylene blue the dye we used to inject into the blood stream in cardiology research labs? I can’t remember for sure. (I would think I’ve got Alzheimers myself except that I’ve always been this way.)
Methylene Blue is cheap and easily available at aquarium stores.
One thing that’s still unknown is the exact dosage.
Various people suggest dosages of 60mcg & 1mg
(1 drop of the aquarium solution = 1mg)
It should to be taken 3 times a day.
Awesome. Thanks for posting this.
“UK scientists have developed a drug which may halt the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
Trials of the drug, known as Rember, in 321 patients showed an 81% difference in rate of mental decline compared with those not taking the treatment.
The Aberdeen University researchers said the drug targeted the build-up of a specific protein in the brain.
Alzheimer’s experts were optimistic about the results, but said larger trials were now needed. “ BBC News 28 July 2008
Presenting the results at the International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease, Professor Claude Wischik said the drug may be on the market by 2012.
Fact is that this isn’t really news. The study you refer to is part if ongoing research. Time will tell. But as with all medicines, this will not be a panacea
Further along in the article it says: “But because high concentrations of methylene blue were known to damage the brain, no one thought to experiment with low concentrations.”
Who said, “It is the dose that makes the poison”? How are the mega dose lab rat testing scare mongering liberals going to handle this?
The was from 2008. Anything more recent?
Wow, what a break though, this is great news!
Read later.
Bump
So it will be available to the public in about 100 years?
Who’d thought it? The antidote for cyanide poisoning and the primary stain of the Graham Stain for bacteria is the cure for Alzheimer’s.
