When last we left CNN co-founder, Reese Schonfeld, he was in a deep funk over the horrible CNN ratings. He had hoped that the election of Barack Obama as president would help that ailing network's ratings but, as reported by Schonfeld, a harsh reality quickly set in:
Now, seven months after Barack Obama's victory, CNN's ratings have gone down the drain. From May of last year to May of this year, CNN lost 22% of its total primetime audience. MSNBC was down 2%, while FoxNews was up 24%. In the key advertising demographic (25-54), Fox was up 31%, CNN was down 37% and MSNBC was down 26%. In hard numbers, Fox had 109,000 more viewers than last year while CNN lost 113,000. CNN averaged fewer than 200,000 25-54 viewers in primetime. Even MSNBC averaged more viewers than that.

PING!
Rather then hailing the ratings bump his station received for it’s wall to wall coverage of the death of the dancing pedophile, perhaps he should be reflecting on what this increase says about exactly what kind of person watches CNN.
Transcript of Bashir interview. Video of it also.
Excerpt:
Jackson: "When you say bed, you're thinking sexual, they make that sexual, it's not sexual." "We're going to sleep, I tuck them in and I put a little like, er, music on and when it's story time I read a book." "We go to sleep with the fireplace on. I give them hot milk, you know, we have cookies, it's very charming, it's very sweet, it's what the whole world should do."
[snip]
Bashir: "Did you ever sleep in the bed with them?"
Jackson: "No. But I have slept in a bed with many children. "I slept in a bed with all of them when Macauley Culkin was little: Kieran Culkin would sleep on this side, Macauley Culkin was on this side, his sisters in there...we all would just jam in the bed, you know. "We would wake up like dawn and go in the hot air balloon, you know, we had the footage. I have all that footage."
Bashir: "But is that right Michael?"
Jackson: "It's very right. It's very loving, that's what the world needs now, more love more heart."
Bashir: "The world needs a man who's 44 who's sleeping in a bed with children?"
Jackson: "No, you're making it - no, no you're making it all wrong ..."
Bashir: "Well, tell me, help me ..."
Jackson: "Because what's wrong with sharing a love? You don't sleep with your kids? Or some other kid who needs love who didn't have a good childhood?"
Bashir: "No, no I don't. I would never dream ..."
Jackson: "That's because you've never been where I've been mentally ..."

I have a neighbor who constantly lies....people don’t bother with him either.
CNN=Corpse News Network
After the MJ coverage is over (finally), CNNs temporary viewers will just flip it back over to the E! channel or whatever.
Imagine how well FOX would be doing if it were actually as conservative as the left accuses it of being!
Friend Gretchen Carlson told Bill O. that they didn’t want to do Michael Jackson all the time due to viewer complaints but whenever they stopped—their ratings dropped.
Dems are good at getting out dead voters; why not run a dead candidate?? American voters have proved there stupid enough; so he'd probably win. He'd still be better then Sub0.
Does CNN include in its numbers, the people stuck in airports who sit in areas with the giant Big Brother view screens air CNN Airport?
It’s too bad that ratings trump credibility and integrity.
Ah, hasn't Obama had sky high personal popularity ratings? Doesn't CNN celebrate Obama and his policies as examples of political triumphs? How can political displeasure then drive viewers away from CNN?
I'd love to see CNN's marketing studies with the polls of cable news viewers saying why people stopped watching CNN. I'd love to see CNN's focus groups comparing CNN, Fox and MSNBC. You know, you'd like to think that the co-founder of CNN would have access to this info and he wouldn't have to be guessing on why people stopped watching CNN.
And with his explanation, he has to be saying that Obama voters don't watch news channels. Which of course means, that Fox viewers are more informed, more involved and more politically informed.
CNN and the DSM ought to really know, why people have dumped their products. They shouldn't have to guess.
