Obama's Climate of Fear (At the rate 0bama is moving, 2012 will by WAY to late)
Business & Media Institute ^ | 7/8/2009 | Dan Kennedy

Posted on 07/09/2009 5:15:06 AM PDT by appleseed

Recently I had a long lunch with an old friend. He sits on the board of one of the largest and most successful publicly traded regional banks in America. He got his seat when that regional bank acquired the very successful community bank he built from the ground up. I will not name him or this bank, but I will pass on a few things he said to me.

He said, “Our bank’s leadership team and others I know at the local or regional level feel paralyzed and intimidated by the climate of fear created by the Obama administration. We believe we are targets of a very deliberate conspiracy.

“The new and proposed regulations will remove every competitive advantage of the community bank, and make every bank identical, forced to operate exactly as does Bank of America,” he explained. “Then, absent competitive opportunity, all of the independent banks will be greatly de-valued and handicapped. They’ll be vulnerable and easily rolled up into the handful of remaining giants … the small bank’s wealth made into fresh food for the insatiable hunger of the big banks’ deficits and losses. This is, I and others believe, the next step in Obama’s plan to take total control of the financial system and money supply, a requirement of dictatorship. “

What is most significant about these statements is the person making them. This is not some freak like the fellow Mel Gibson portrayed in the movie “Conspiracy Theory.”. He’s not somebody stockpiling food in a cabin hidden away in the woods, to escape to when anarchy erupts. Not anybody you would expect to hear express such thoughts. And he’s not a lone voice.

Another friend is the CEO of a mid-sized company that had been on an impressive trajectory of growth for the past three years but is now stalled. He and his advisers have reversed their viewpoint in the last few months. They are eager to sell the company if possible now rather than later. Why? They believe Obama is deliberately, systematically destroying the economy as a whole and is specifically targeting small business for extinction – because it’s too difficult to exercise dictatorial control over millions of small enterprises.

This fellow has begun the process of acquiring dual citizenship and hopes to cash out and leave the country. He said that he can only envision a growing, worsening, toxic climate of fear here – again that term – and he prefers to be away from it.

Well, liberal fruitcakes have always talked about leaving the country if a president they reviled got elected (Alec Baldwin and Susan Sarandon come to mind). You expect such empty-headed, empty threats from them, as you would from those on the extreme right about Obama. But if you knew this CEO, who made me swear not to mention him by name if writing about this, you would never in a million years expect to hear these thoughts from him.

A couple of weeks ago I talked to the director of marketing for a leading private aviation company, which offers fractional jet ownership, pre-paid membership packages of private jet flight, and concierge-organized private jet travel. In her 15+ years in the industry, she said, she’d never encountered as many people who would not buy and travel in this manner because they were afraid of being seen and judged harshly. Many even feared having their companies singled out for reprisal by the government. She said, “I’m doing business in a climate of fear, almost clandestinely, as if engaged in espionage rather than commerce.” She too asked not to be identified.

This is an untold story. The mainstream media would mostly refuse to report on it. But even if they wanted to, these business leaders and countless others like them would refuse to publicly talk about their views. Because they are afraid.

From free enterprise to fearful enterprise. From ambition, initiative and investment, to hoarding and inaction and exit. This the only thing Obama has actually stimulated: a climate of fear.

They believe Obama is deliberately, systematically destroying the economy as a whole and is specifically targeting small business for extinction – because it’s too difficult to exercise dictatorial control over millions of small enterprises.

Might also be difficult to control the millions of us who oppose his systematic destruction of our country. It's hard to believe that in the past 6 months, he managed to get control over almost every aspect our life with the cover and blessins of this corrupt and control driven congress. 20+ unelected, unaccountable csars and no doubt there are more to come which only adds to the insult. When will it end?

Last line reads This the only thing Obama has actually stimulated: a climate of fear.

At some point (God only let it be soon) the people are gonna realize what is being done to us and stand up to this bully and his cronies and end this nightmare one way or another. Wake up people!

Yep, it’ll be too late by 2012, because like Biden said, an “event” will come along to test Obama, he’ll institute marshal law and seal the deal.

Are we so complacent now that not even 10% unemployment won’t galvanize us and react? What’s it gonna take?

That was his intent all along. FULL CONTROL and GOVERNMENT OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT.

He is a crook and dirty Chicago thug politico. Anyone that voted for his should be ashamed.

“Our bank’s leadership team and others I know at the local or regional level feel paralyzed and intimidated by the climate of fear created by the Obama administration."

I'm not saying this isn't true. But I will say that I just don't understand this. The leadership of a bank, I would imagine, would consist of men about 60 years of age. Long, distingushed work histories. Good amount of money in their personal account. Nice home in a nice town. These guys are pretty well set. Now, along comes Obama, trashing their bank, trashing their industry, and trashing the country -- and these guys are afraid? I would think that at least some of them would have the courage of their convictions, stand up, and say "This is wrong." But no. They're afraid.

What have we come to?

I have pondered this. I just don't see the military supporting him. They are volunteers. Seems more likely they would desert and take up arms with the people.

Aside from that, it very hard to believe we are even entertaining such thoughts.

This whole paragraph is significant, as this is what I observe happening either intentionally or unintentionally. What gives the "intentional destruction" possibility credibility is that there is no intent to deviate from the current path-- by Obama or by Congress.

I hate to say it, but the only real hope lies with Democrats in Congress who better wake up soon...

White board, black thug pres? 40 years of being brow-beaten and excoriated about how the white guys kept minorities oppressed? And not just the board getting brow-beaten, but every citizen of the USA on all sides of the racial spectrum.

Hence the civilian force with the same funding as the military. I don't trust the Kenyan strongman as far as I can throw him.

Sooner or later the internet will be under the control of the government to an extent that many of us can’t imagine. Close down sites such as this one and only have ‘approved’ forums for disscussion of ‘approved’ issues is in the offing. I’m not a paranoid sort of person but I don’t find it too hard to imagine some bureau profiling posters. When the Net is censored by the government and those who have expressed discontent are targeted it will truely be too late.

I honestly don’t know how the military will react. Are enough of them in it “for the paycheck?” I just don’t know how many are really into for service for the country. The one video I saw where it’s obvious how they feel about Obama is encouraging, and I hope they would be in support of the Constitution and the people of this country, but I’m the doubting Thomas here. I mean, they did after all, applaud when Obama promised more pay.

I don’t like knocking the military like this, I just hope they pull through for us if the s*** hits the fan.

The news in my opinion gets worse every day in every aspect of our society. We must find some comfort in this time of constant and steady flow of bad news.

I'm forgetting about the Govt. power grab for just a few days and focusing on one bright spot. This is my favorite time of year. My gardens are starting to produce in a big way and that means canning time. My wife and I have an agreement - I dig up the ground, plant the seeds, maintain the plants and pick the fruits and veggies of my labor. What is good is my wife now steps up to the plate and cans fresh and healthy food while I sit back and rest my aching muscles and blisters. Won't be long until we have tons of canned fruit and jelly for this winter. I planted at least double the crops this year than I did last year. She has her work cut for her 'cause we have had an unusual amount of rain and everything is producing in a big way. God has blessed us in abundance this year. No doubt a good thing in light of the way our country is headed.

Just one more bit of good news to lighten up an otherwise dark future - Media reports and speculation about a Slim Jim shortage or "outage" appear to be largely unfounded, according to ConAgra Foods Inc., the company that manufactures the meat snack, a staple in grocery and convenience stores.

Tastes good and lasts a long time - kinda like Spam.

Most of the military are not idea people. The military lifestyle itself is very socialist......all captains make the same etc...captain with 4 years makes the same as a captain with four years...

the houses are all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same

the uniforms

the military tells you everything but it’s a positive socialism because of the humming of the economy

if the economy is not working.............well lemme put it this way,

US is hard to take over because we are armed and our middle and lower classes are pretty wild and intransigent. It’s the upper classes that have drunk the coolaid and wouldn’t be able to take care of themselves in hard times. They gotta have everything run smooth to function and if their Perrier isn’t available they will cry like a newborn babe and have a nervous breakdown.

I think that in order to fight a really serious war, you have to hate the enemy. We hated the Japs. We hated the Nazis. We wanted to wipe the scum out.

Today, we aren't allowed to hate anyone. All cultures are equal, right? How do we know we're right? Who made us boss? Maybe the other guys ought to win the war ...

Our professional military today is extemely good and capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone. But a big, big war would require a draft, and the US is no longer capable of fielding an army of conscripts with fire in their bellies.

Their power grab is moving to that "Food Production Facility" you've got going there.

Linky Thing - H.R. 875

Check it out by doing a search in the document for "Food Production Facility"

They're coming for you ...can't have you providing for yourself, know what I mean.

I believe that less than half of US soldiers will be willing to fire on US citizens....most will not.

It's the pimply-faced teenagers flying the UAVs in command bunkers thousands of miles away that have me worried. Having been desensitized on a diet of violent movies like 'SAW', and trained on violent computer games, most americans will be nothing but pixels on their display screens. They will happily fire their missiles from the UAVs and cheer while our homes burn.

By the way..who is this Marshal Law I keep hearing about? ;^)
