CYPRESS - The owners of a home where a woman is accused of leaving her kids overnight while she was off smoking pot are working to clean up the residence so city officials can declare it habitable.
Alison Le Anne Ebert, 35, turned herself in Tuesday after police found her 9- and 11-year-old daughters alone in a home filled with knee-deep trash piles, maggots and overflowing toilets. Authorities say the conditions were so bad that officials were forced to condemn the home.
"According to code enforcement, they are going to have to replace the drywall and flooring," Cypress police Sgt. Tom Bruce said. "It's that bad."

Ugh......Very guilty
From the meth capital of the world (SW MO), here’s a twist: an area landlord let a carpet installer stay in a house he was getting fixed up. As we would all do, naturally the carpet guy set up a meth lab in the house, leading to a drug bust and multiple kids being put in DFS custody. Lovely.
GUILTY
Someone should take a video of the place and make an ad out of it with a “This Is Your Brain On Drugs” theme. I’d make it a split-screen, on the left side her yukking it up, sucking on a bong with her dope-smoking friends, and on the right, her kids at home alone wallowing through filth scrounging for something to eat.
Evidence of another victimless crime.

Just lock her up in the house.
It is apparent that the landlord was not aware of the conditions. That is why a landlord’s lease should always include the right to enter the premises at any (reasonable) time to inspect living conditions.
If the landlord does not make inspections, part of the fault is on him.
