You should read the whole interview at NY Times. The WND quotes are rather misleading. She goes on to say she realized her perception(about Roe v Wade) was wrong.

Not misleading at all. The excerpts above clearly state this.
The point is she had this perception and still supported abortion prior to the 1980 Harris ruling.
Regardless, she approved of it when her impression was wrong (or right in this case)
