To his friends and family he was already a spectacular success - apparently heading for the summit in the bruising world of finance.
Oxford graduate Anjool Malde was about to celebrate his 25th birthday and was building a reputation not just as a stockbroker but also as an events organiser.
On Sunday at noon - in his favourite Hugo Boss suit - he paid in cash for a glass of champagne at the eighth-floor Coq d'Argent restaurant near the Bank of England
Still holding the glass, he walked to the roof terrace, climbed over a railing and jumped 80ft to his death. Friends of Mr Malde, many of whom had been invited to two parties to celebrate his birthday today, were mystified why a man with so much to live for should take his own life. But it emerged that two days before the tragedy, he had been told to 'leave his desk' at Deutsche Bank, where he had worked for the past four years - the first setback he had ever suffered. Although he had been neither sacked nor suspended, he was said to be at the centre of an inquiry relating to an IT issue thought to be linked to the use of his work computer.

“he had been told to ‘leave his desk’ at Deutsche Bank, where he had worked for the past four years - the first setback he had ever suffered.”
Nobody wants to lose but it’s a part of life you better get used to soon...
Sarah Palin is a quitter.
</sarcasm>
Lots more to this story .....
I wonder if this is connected to the Goldman proprietary trading sw heist. The web site that the code in Germany was uploaded to was registered to someone in England.
You don’t download German porn on your work computer!!!!! How many times must it be said????
On his personal website he described his work status-as ‘Living the Dream’.... ‘He’d always been a high-flyer and nothing had ever got in his way. He was also very concerned with keeping up appearances and how he seemed to other people.
‘He was a good guy who didn’t drink too much, didn’t take drugs but worked damned hard and probably pushed himself too hard.
‘He never slept and lived on Red Bull.’
Who knows what lurks in the hearts and minds of cybernauts?
Now they'll have a case for banning Red Bull. (for the chillrun)
It's a shame his self-esteem was built around what others thought of him... instead of knowing his potential. Everyone suffers setbacks...it's what makes us stronger, more durable and less likely to repeat mistakes.
Trouble with being a whiz-kid or a high-flyer is that you aren’t used to failure, and when you encounter it for the first time (which you will eventually) you haven’t learned how to handle it.....
Ruh-roh, I'm in trouble if they start linking Red Bull to suicidal ideation. I am a Red Bull junkie.
And this is important to us why?
I always thought they'd come for my guns first, not my Red Bull. Oh, no.
Like a watermelon hitting the pavement "style"?
lol!
...............he paid in cash for a glass of champagne............
What a great outtake for a Capitol One ad. “When you should really use a credit card, we’re here for you!”
Hope that he got in a sip on the way down!
Quite tragic, really.
Next question - is this the re-start of the 1929 Flyers Club?
He cried? Does anyone know what Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon are getting for Christmas? Patrick Swayze
Happened to me much earlier in life. When I was born the Dr. slapped my mother. On the way home from the hospital my parents left me in the lost-n-found at the zoo.
Things went downhill from there.
I think we're getting close.
