US STOCKS-Wall St hits 10-week low amid talk of new stimulus (Obamanomics)

NEW YORK, July 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell to their lowest level in 10 weeks on Tuesday as talk of a second government stimulus plan heightened fears that the economy is not yet on the path to recovery and that the corporate earnings season starting this week will be weak.

A member of the Obama administration's economic advisory panel said the United States should plan to possibly provide a second round of stimulus funds to prop up the economy. The comments come as investors question earlier optimism for a quick recovery, which had driven stocks as much as 40 percent higher since early March. For details, see [ID:nSP379268]

"It's clear that over the last three plus weeks that investors are becoming concerned that the recovery in the economy will not come as soon as expected and will not be as strong as expected," said Hugh Johnson, chief investment officer of Johnson Illington Advisors in Albany, New York.

I voted for McCain and sent him copious amounts of money to defeat Obama. I now regret doing all of that. McCain is useless as a conservative politican.

If you mean Sarah Palin, well OK. Otherwise, may the fleas of a hundred bankrupt IRAs infest your bank accounts.

Rather than sully their white gloves by pulling the lever for McCain, these so-called conservative ‘purists’ would prefer to drown in $#!+ for the next four years, if not the rest of their dramatically shortened lives. Go figure.

I know, I’m just stirring the stuff.

But after actually BEING in the Obamanation for several months, I have to confess that if I could magically switch out Barack Obama for MEGAN McCain until January 2013, I would. (I wouldn’t go any lower than that, though.)

I believe there are going to be liberals compelled to stand against Obama unless they choose to be swept away in the inevitable destruction his idiocy will bring for all of us.

Obama may discredit the philosophy of the left for the next hundred years if we happen to survive his administration.

For some (myself included) it's better than having the heat turned up gradually. I want to get it over with - one way or another - so that my boys will live in a better, more sane, world.

Genius.

Yes, Mr Johnson, who is obviously too #%@$#&! stupid to get it, that was sarcasm.

This is going to be worse than Carter. Far worse. McCain was horrible but not a nightmare.

Which is like propping up a wilting plant instead of giving it water.

What these numbers add up to in real figures are that almost everyone who made money in the three month bump in the market are now back to where they were in March.

What are you talking about? Most conservatives went out in droves for McCain because of Palin and he still lost. McCain probably lost the small-l libertarians, and that's his problem, not those voters.

these so-called conservative ‘purists’ would prefer to drown in $#!+ for the next four years, if not the rest of their dramatically shortened lives. Go figure.

Again, you conveniently ignore that McCain voted for the original TARP that got the ball rolling. He would have continued spending and probably ruined Palin's chances at becoming President in her own right. I'm glad Obama is doing this because now people can see what full-blown marxists these Democrats are.
