Palin returns to work, defends decision to resign

---------------snip----------------- In an interview with The Associated Press, Palin defended her decision to step down after a year in which she has been bombarded with a series of ethics complaints that have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to investigate.

"You would be amazed at how much time and resource my staff and I, the Department of Law especially, spend on this every day," she said. "It is a waste. We are spending these millions of dollars not on teachers and troopers and roads or fish research and other things that are needed in Alaska."

Palin stunned the political world when she abruptly announced Friday that she would step down July 26. She spent the long holiday weekend fishing with her husband and kids briefly and attended an Independence Day parade. Her first official appearance was at the bill signing. She also gave several interviews while wearing waders from her family's fishing spot before flying to Kotzebue.

They “quitter” quartet here on Free Republic never liked Sarah in the first place.

They are like Red Sox fans trying to lecture the Yankees on how to play better baseball. it’s bullsh*t man.

I would like to see any of Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN do a piece on the people who filed all the bogus ethics complaints that cost the Alaska taxpayers $2 million dollars. Those people need to be exposed on national TV.

Now that is a REAL story!

I’d like those people to be investigated, to find out who are funding them. These people did not wake up one day and decide to file these ethics complaints. They are not smart enough to do this, they are being funded by people, my guess being Obama, Soros, and Axelrod. Chicago politics at it’s best. The problem is, we don’t have enough Conservatives in the press who are willing to actually get off their asses and INVESTIGATE who are funding these people, geez it should not be hard, just follow the money trail

I’m curious (in more ways than one).......Sarah had to reimburse the state for trips where she took her children along......Obama is in Russia right now with his kids, who is paying for this?

You don't actually expect those paragons of journalistic integrity, those august members of the mainstream media to dig up dirt on private citizens, do you? Why, for shame, Sir! Such a thing is just NOT done...except to human speed bumps like Joe the Plumber, Bristol Palin, Gennifer Flowers, Linda Tripp, etc.

I agree with you! Joe the Plumber only asked a simple tax question and they (MSM, DEMS, LIBS) were all over his personal life and history.

Another republican hounded from office by the law dog leftist communist scum lawyers of the democrat virus party.

Obama parasitically wasted hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars NOT DOING the job he was elected to do to run for president starting in February 2007. He scammed the people of Illinois. Before his Feb 2007 announcement, running around in NH and Iowa, and giving speeches to far left groups and lying instinctively about the past and the future. He skipped dozens of senate committee assighnments, and when he did show up (usually late) he let others run the committee.

Democrats may like parasites but conervatives do not. Palin did an utterly responsible and honorable thing. She resigned a job and her own paycheck, because she was unable to do a job she was elected to do. The ankle-biters and hitsquads of the left, personified by Shannyn Moore and Vanity Fair, would never let up. Her last 18 months would no doubt see a trebling in complaints and lawsuits.

Palin is her own woman. She can happily run and crush the republican establishment and throw those bums out in the gutter where they belong. She can then then steamroll the Obama-Biden trainwreck and start the necessary process of shrinking goverment and returning freedom to the people. She is a deadly enemy of the entrenched, corrupt Beltway garbage that infests both parties.

Perhapsyou don’t have all the factors in the equation.

You left out Uncle Rupert and Fox News.

What if she gets an hour or two a week, say Sunday morning. What if she has a Dead Pundit minute where she drags out her super sling and destroys some Goliath like Mo Dowd every week? What she has a How to Love America 5 minute segment where she finds an exceptional family and asks America to emulate? What if she has a Stinking Congressman segment where she airs his dirty pork laden tax wasting handiwork.

Uncle Rupert will have advertisers standing in line to buy his ads. She will make a bundle. she will have exceptional face time and deliver a message for free.

She might have the most watched weekly news show. Eat your heart out 60 minutes

Think about it.

If the pubs do not use the same tactics to destroy the communist democrat polititians then only the communists will be in power in America.
And the pubs are known for their weakness in defending honor, dignity and loyalty and have allowed good conservatives to be railroaded by communist leftist lawyers and therefore the pubs will die the death of the stupid.

"I had promised no more politics as usual," she said. "I had promised no more ineffectiveness and inefficiencies. We will progress the state better with Sean in the governor's seat and me fighting for Alaska on the outside of government because of the conditions that have changed."
At first I was skeptical about this decision. Now I see the beauty of it.

She made the right move... I was wrong not to see it immediately.
