Need we say more...?? ( My first vanity-What have I lost ???)
Don't know | Don't know- today ? | Don't know

Ed McMahon died this week. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the CA Air National Guard.

Farrah Fawcett died this week after a long career in Hollywood as an actress. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek treatment. She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.

Michael Jackson died this week. He was perhaps one of the greatest singers of modern time. He will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and costumes. He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.

QUESTION - Which of the above did the House of Representatives declare a moment of silence for today?

(Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

QUESTION - Which of the above's family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama?

(Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

Need we say more??

Of course they wouldn’t honor a Marine...The lousy Dems spent several years trying to dishonor the ENTIRE Military........

Something about acting in a manor of Ghengis Khan......

Need we say more??

Actually I think you should. Which celebrity is getting 7/24 coverage? It's not the first two. For better or worse (probably worse), Jackson is the bigger celebrity by far.

I didn't realize Ed McMahon had such a distinguished military record. I had always seen him as the lovable lush who was Johnny's sidekick.

JACKSON NATION: I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FREAK

In the end, what was Michael Jackson – male or female, black or white, adult or infant, Diana Ross or Howard Hughes?

Get beyond the anorexia (at death, Jackson weighed 112 lbs), the addiction to prescription pain-killers (he was injected with Demerol three times a day), the cosmetic surgery and skin-bleaching, and the allegations of sexual assault on children – and Jackson still was so profoundly weird as to suggest previously unexplored depths of the word.

Last week, at age 50, Michael Jackson transferred to another dimension. He will be missed. The celebrity/side-show-attraction was the perfect metaphor for what America has become – the U.S. of Freak.

Interviewers asked: “Will Jackson be remembered as an entertainer or an eccentric?” But, the moonwalker is much harder to characterize.

He was an “entertainer” best known for cancelling concerts, a chronological adult who could only relate to children (emotionally and sexually), a man-child best known for his antics – dangling his infant son off a balcony, assuming a fetal position when threatened by reality, marrying women who were less important to him than his signature sunglasses, and endlessly whining that he was a victim – this from a man who’d earned half-a-billion dollars over the course of his career.

When the tabloids began calling him “Whacko-Jacko,” the artiste whimpered, “I’m a person, not a Whacko-Jacko.” When someone feels compelled to make public declarations of his humanity, he’s gone way beyond eccentric and is about to apply for permanent-resident status in The Twilight Zone.

Etc.

This guy nails Wacko-Jacko and the Hollyweird culture who made the psychotic buffoon a national symbol. The article fits perfectly with your posting, and is more than worthy of a read IMHO.

“Wasn’t that Racist???”

Reminds me of an email I recieved recently...:

Proud to be White

Michael Richards makes his point..............

Michael Richards, better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld, makes a good point.

This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points...

‘Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me ‘White boy,’ ‘Cracker,’ ‘Honkey,’ ‘Whitey,’ ‘Caveman’..... and that’s OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink .. You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma’uled Al-Nabi.

You have the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we’d be racists.. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.

If we had White History Month, we’d be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to ‘advance’ OUR lives, we’d be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.. Wonder who pays for that?

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we’d be racists.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet if there were ‘White colleges’, that would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist..

I am proud... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?’

There is nothing improper about this e-mail.Let’s see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don’t think many will. That’s why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won’t stand up for ourselves!

BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!

It’s not a crime YET... but getting very close!

It is estimated that ONLY 5% of those reaching this point in this e-mail, will pass it on.

What will you do?

Let’s celebrate his life. Where else but in America can you be born a poor black boy and die a rich white woman?

I don’t believe that the e-mail that you posted is really from Michael Richards. Your post claims it is from a speech given as a defense in court. Defense of what? Was Richards arrested for something, or sued? News to me.

Is there a link or citation?

oscumbo will probably pay tribute to Ed on his first visit to Japan.

He will profusely apologize for the carnage that men like Ed imposed on all those poor innocent Japs.
