I believe Michael Jackson is a case study for those who wish to see what's the worse that could happen, if a child becomes extremely popular.

Something clicked off in the guy in the late 1980s, and he just went psychotic.  By the mid 1990s his physical appearance was in the process of a complete
transformation.  He became a mutant human being.  Certainly his physical appearance has become monsteresque.  His resemblence to the tallented young man
that with others created the Thriller products was complete gone.  He was having problems being an adult.  He seemed to live in some fantasy world of children
and sugar plum fairies.  Beyond the concern for other people's children, my concern for the last decade or so, has been his children.  If they aren't screwed up
beyond belief, I'll never understand how they avoided it.

I'm just glad no children will be around this guy ever again.

The following is directed to Freepers who haven't donated or signed up for monthlies yet...

13% is good.  100% is better.  You know you're going to do it.  Pull the trigger!  You don't have to pay it all now.  $5 now, $25 next week, $10 later... keep the ball rolling.

Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons.  Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out.  There's an added incentive for a limited time only.  (Always wanted to type that...)

Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there.  It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.

Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too.  There are horderves, hot women with short skirts, and beer too.  Alert, the pizza just showed up!  It's a partaaaee...
Ladies, there were 15 lifeguards over there a few minutes ago.  (I'm beginning to feel a bit guilty... heh heh heh...)

"He was having problems being an adult. He seemed to live in some fantasy world of children and sugar plum fairies."

I've stated numerous times that because of the physical and emotional abuse in his childhood, and because he had such an abnormal upbringing, being in the spotlight and under pressure from a very young age, his emotional growth/development was stunted... And since apparently he never got the healing he needed, he was basically a child in an adult's body. I could totally see it, and many others can too.

That is why I don't believe he was the evil, sex-crazed monster that many of you have made him out to be, he was someone who prefers climbing trees and water balloon fights to the normal things adults do. I just finished a class that was all about this stuff, I learned a lot about how abuse and traumas impact us later in life, and how important it is to get true healing and be restored to our original selves that God designed us to be.

I know this is not a popular thing to say on this Michael-hating mob mentality site, but the fact is, from a Christian perspective, he needed people's prayers, not our derision and misunderstanding. But with the exception of the few people who actually cared about him, the rest of us turned our back on him, and labeled him a freak. Well, he's dead now, and apparently many of you are happy about that. Apparently, MJ isn't the only person who desperately needs God... but he's the one his haters love to smugly condemn to hell, while not seeing the big log in their own eye.
