VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict called on Tuesday for a "world political authority" to manage the global economy and for more government regulation of national economies to pull the world out of the current crisis and avoid a repeat.
The pope made his call for a re-think of the way the world economy is run in a new encyclical which touched on a number of social issues but whose main connecting thread was how the current crisis has affected both rich and poor nations.
Parts of the encyclical, titled "Charity in Truth," seemed bound to upset free marketeers because of its underlying rejection of unbridled capitalism and unregulated market forces, which he said had led to "thoroughly destructive" abuse of the system.
The pope said every economic decision had a moral consequence and called for "forms of redistribution" of wealth overseen by governments to help those most affected by crises.
Benedict said "there is an urgent need of a true world political authority" whose task would be "to manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result."

Just like some Roman Catholics on this forum are vainly trying to justify the pope's idiotic, scandalous, repugnant, fascist comments about a world economic authority (God forbid), so, too, do some Roman Catholics try to justify falling down to the stock of a tree and praying to dead people as something proper and without error.
Dangerously wrong on both counts.
They swallow this stuff wholesale and never bat an eye. They defend the indefensible. They march in lock-step. They follow orders.
Thankfully, by our fruits we are known.

There is no Encyclical which is so clear it cannot be explained, modified, or interpreted as required.lol. And there's no action or statement by the pretender in Rome that can't be rationalized inside out to say whatever someone wants it to say.
We recently saw with our own eyes the pope sitting patiently and politely for six minutes while the Palestinian terrorist Tamimi spouted his anti-Israel lies and then with our own eyes we watched as this pope shook hands with the terrorist, not once but TWICE afterwards.
And still we were told our lying eyes deceived us.
The RRC's obstinate blindness will be its demise.

Not at all. If you look at easily over 90% of former Catholics who became Protestants its clear that they were never catechized well and rarely if ever practiced their faith. That is a terrible indictment about Church officials over the last 40 years, but not an indictment of the faith or the Church herself. As a former Protestant minister once remarked to me: the Catholic Church is getting Protestant minsiters to join her and they were well catechized in their former faith and risked everything to become Catholics. The Protestant sects, however, are getting former Catholics who usually had little knowledge of their former faith and risk absolutely nothing n joining Protestant sects. Their lives, in fact, become easier because of the lower Protestant standards (e.g. acceptance of birth control, divorce, etc) and their consciences are more easily assuaged because of false doctrines like lack of free will and once-saved-always-saved that removes a feeling of responsibility for sinful decisions.

However, I do understand . . . some folks
find the

like a log in a hurricane . . . and are loathe to let go a single fingernail’s worth.

Not hate at all.
As Vlad seems to put it . . .
it’s merely an accurate DESCRIPTION of reality.
I guess we need to note . . .
DISAGREMENT is NOT equal to HATE;
DESCRIPTION is NOT equal to HATE.
We do understand that such an unrubberized dictionary seems to be quite beyond some biases to wrap their tenticles around.

What a pantload. My husband and my pastor were catechized well enough, even went to Catholic high school GOD moved them out of that body for His own purposes. We know better. They can fool themselves that way if they want to. Denial, maybe?
