Maybe they can work a crescent in there somehow /sarc....
You know there actually used to be a time where memorials, no mater how modest, used to actually respect the event they memorialized.
Now it’s all steel rods, glowing boxes, gravel, dirt, and plastic.
Who the heck can figure what any of these things actually stand for?
Also, we used to memorialize heros, victory, heroic sacrafice, and greatness. But getting blown up on a train? We are errecting statues to glorify victimhood. This is silly.
BTW: Given what apparently happened on flight 93 that is heroic and should be memorialized, in my opinion.
Sometimes they're artistic and nice looking, even if not representational, sometimes not. But their vagueness, their abstractness doesn't offend.
