For those interested in exploring one of the greatest internal and transnational threats to the United States, there is a new book out today by Samuel Logan, This is For the Mara Salvatrucha: Inside the MS-13, America's Most Violent Gang.
The book traces the history of Brenda Paz, a young Honduran who joins MS-13 and eventually becomes the most effective police witness against the organization, before she was killed. But besides the individual story, the book shows just how powerful and ruthless the MS-13 has become. Given that it now has chapters in thousands of cities across the United States, and maintains its transnational structure through the clan structure in Central America, the gang (or mara in Spanish) presents a significant challenge.
But it is not just a local law enforcement issue. It is truly a transnational threat that can destroy countries.

This Is for the Mara Salvatrucha: Inside the MS-13, America’s Most Violent Gang (Hardcover)
by Samuel Logan (Author)
Government wants you to believe these drug gangs are not a threat like the “right wing christian gun carrying conservative”.
Welcome to the jungle!
This country will be held hostage by MS-13 and other criminal gangs if Obama can realize his plan to disarm law-abiding US citizens. Perhaps the Kenyan thinks that MS-13 will also surrender their arms.
Yup. Zer0 the Kenyan would be gullable enough to think he has power over them too. The jungle is encroaching on us with lightning speed.
I know someone - er - my wife...who is one of those that refuse to even watch any of the MS-13 type videos saying “why would I have any interest in knowing about them?”.....
She is one of the millions that actually believe ignorance is bliss - that not knowing about something like this (and a million other current political agendas) will keep the bad things from happening to her. (I guess its like getting hit upside the head without knowing who or why - is better than any form of preparation...)
I offered to show her some of those videos and got my head bit off. I just told her maybe she’ll know why I wanted to show her who these types are so that she could be more prepared when they come a knockin.
But don’t ask me...I’m just a pessimist.
Imagine a world where gangland provides MORE love and personal attention and even discipline than any form of parent they may have ever known?! I’m afraid most of them never even had a parent.
How’s this for pessimism: It’s only just getting started.
Now that is a circle.
