Thanks John.

Anything that makes the liberals run around like their hair is on fire is good for me.

"Liberals claim Palin's decision to unshackle herself is 'puzzling,' 'bewildering,' 'confounding,' dumbfounding' 'befuddling,' 'mystifying,' 'perplexing,' 'mind-boggling,' etc., then they immediately proceed to explain what her motives were. Two seconds later, they're back to being 'bewildered,' 'puzzled,' 'befuddled,' 'confounded' -- in other words, their normal state of mind."

They might have said similar things about Washington, the Adamses, Jefferson, Madison, and the founding generation, because the views they expressed were and are diametrically opposed to all that today's "liberals" identify with.

Poor liberals (as well as others). They are in lockstep with the ideas of tyranny and threatened by any to dare to have an independent thought, whether it's about limiting government power, acknowledging life and liberty for the unborn, or questioning Gore's provincial views on global warming. Censorship of all competing ideas is their only defense.

Sarah Palin shatters the image of the chattering class specifically because she is the epitome of everything the left hasn't the sense or character to be themselves. And they know that, and that's what infuriates them.

Palin as role-model scares them more than anthrax in the mail... and that makes us all laugh heartily! 8^)

Great post John!

I find it amazing that, 29 posts in, we have had zero of the "Sarah quit" crowd. I figured they'd be here in droves. Perhaps the haven't gotten their counter talking points from the GOP elites yet.

“But if there’s a core reason Palin is giving up quality Moose-hunting time, it’s to do the job the GOP girliemen won’t do — taking it to Obama”.

I certainly hope so. Good post.

One source who is close to Palin and her team (and requested anonymity) told me that “Gov. Palin has about $500,000 in legal debts from fighting these ethics charges her enemies started in Alaska. Fifteen charges have been dismissed and three remain -- and all have been frivolous and time-consuming. Under a state ethics law [that Palin herself signed], it is very complex for a public official to set up a legal defense fund and raise money for it. But as a private citizen, [Palin] can get a multi-million dollar advance for a book or make a few lectures for big fees and retire the debt.”
