The Washington Times ^ | July 7, 2009 | Editorial

Weekend reports that Saudi Arabia will allow overfly rights to Israeli warplanes to strike nuclear facilities in Iran came as no surprise in these quarters. A growing Arab-Israeli detente is being driven by the shared sense of threat from Tehran. In March, a high-ranking Israeli source told us, "You'd be amazed at how we see eye-to-eye with the moderate Arab states."

What is the old Arab saying? “The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.”

Nobody wants a nuclear missile armed Iran, including the arabs and sunnis of the middle-east countries.
Mubarak is also royally pissed at Hezbollah and Iran trying to buddy with the muslim brotherhood to coup Egpyt.

Saudi Arabia has as much to fear from Iran as anyone. We will see what happens next.

All one has to do is look at a map of the middle east.

If Iran fired nukes towards Israel, all of these countries (Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, etc) are in the line of fire. The targeting success of SCUDS leaves something to be desired. Some might not make it all the way to Israel.

If an attack happened, they would be subject to collateral damage, radiation effects, and an influx of refugees.

They want none of that.

And the crowning insult of Saudi Arabia towards a smoldering Iran will be to show Israel on its maps, and mark Iran as a territory of Iraq.

Hey it’s as good a guess as any.

The idea seems to be to smash Iran’s war machine before it can produce any nukes to shoot.

Maybe the Israeli AF can drag some of the Saudi F-15Es along for the party.

If Saudi Arabia really wanted to help Israel take out Iranian nuke sites, the King Khalid air base would be a great place to refule Israeli aircraft.

Saudi Arabia is not even close to being a “moderate” state and they are only using Israel for their benefit. After Israel takes out the Iranian nuke sites, everything will go back to normal.

True but everyone is in danger if Iran doesn't get rid of its current regime and they give up nukes.

No want wants Iran to rule the Middle East either.

Israelis are not even allowed in Saudia Arabia. My point is that this is not going to change the Arabs views towards Israel and Jews. Islam itself preaches hatred towards Jews and that will never change.

True, the hate against the Jews is still there, going back to a slight against percieved by Mohammed, but that does not deny the fact that the sunnis and shias HATE EACH OTHER with a passion. Plus SA gaved the cleareance to Isreal to fly over their air space.

I know, they have hated each other for over 1000 years. But they also have worked together to bring us down. Also their differences have not stopped Islam from marching across the West.

As soon as the strike is over, everything will go back to normal. With the Saudis spreading hate across the world.
