You both annoy me. Kidding, I don’t want to turn up dead with you two both claiming credit for my demise.

Casey, an Arab, was the author of "Arab Americans: Making a Difference".

I didn't realize that he still did it. After he was booted from AT40, he started Casey's Top 40, but I didn't think that that lasted. I know America's Top 40 is still on, not that I listen to it anymore.
But don't be dissing my man, Casey. The dude was the voice of Robin, the Boy Wonder for decades!

I didn’t even know his top 40 or Top 20 countdown was on the radio. I remember as a teen his Top 40 Countdown would be on the radio on sunday mornings and I would listen to to last few songs of the top 5 or whatever while driving home from church. Ah, those were the days.

You left out “tedious, annoying”.

I used to love his program back in the seventies. Don't know about his politics, but somehow he hit the sweet spot on radio.
To: Nachum
I still got 3 sets of his show from sometime in the 70s. On LPs. Runs about 22 minutes a side. 30 minutes after the locals add the commercials. This was a show that did not have advertisements embedded in the program from Kasem. Every station was charged for it and all the spots were locally inserted.

Wait. He's RESIGNING?
How could he abandon his people like that?
Must be those multiple ethics lawsuits from Dick Clark and attacks on his wife.
He's never gonna be president now.

He may be all of that, but he is an icon in broadcasting. Not much of an icon....he was very much over-hyped and promoted.
His syndicated show was a time-filler, usually run on weekends by stations so they could give their regular guys some time off. He never got off the ground in the ratings.

And Casem’s a racist too. He had Jesse Jackson perform his ceremony and opposed California’s Proposition 209, which banned governmental racism and racial preferences.
