Limbaugh Says Don't Count Sarah Palin Out for 2012

Sarah Palin's political future seems to be in question now more than ever since she announced her resignation as Alaska's governor, but prominent conservative Rush Limbaugh says it is too early to count her out of the 2012 presidential race.

"I don't think this precludes her running for office down the road, the presidency, in 2012, at all," Limbaugh said in a radio interview over the weekend with Brian Maloney of Radio Equalizer. "I think these people saying she's an instant target because she quit is just inside the beltway formulaic. And she's not that."

Limbaugh echoed that sentiment: "If anything, this woman's M.O. is outside-the-box, not formulaic, so until we know what this is all about, I think it's just everybody being the smartest person in the room," he said. "All I know she is going to continue to fire up people."

While Palin is facing increasing criticism in Alaska, she has managed to stay in the national spotlight since her vice presidential run in 2008.

"It boils down to this," Limbaugh said. "When you have so many establishment types, inside the beltway, establishment, elitist types.... just so eager to destroy this woman, it means they're still scared to death of her, and that to me, is the bottom line, and I'm living proof that if you do things outside of the box.... you don't have to be part of a formula."

If she intended to run for POTUS, she should have finished her term, if for appearances only. It does not look good for her to quit mid-term. It makes her look like a quitter, regardless of her reasons for leaving and it gives the left LOTS of ammo.

This author needs to get real. Sitting on her fanny all day making stuff up isn’t going to do it.

I exactly agree with Rush on this one. The "conventional wisdom is just wrong.

I just ordered one of these bumper stickers for 99 cents, including shipping. It's at patriotdepot.com No, I'm not associated with the seller -- just seemed like a great deal, so I'm passing it along.

It's just uncanny.

How can that man always be so right!

Just a thought.
If Sarah Palin remained governor of Alaska, Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress would have worked to destroy the state, then blamed the consequences of their actions on Gov. Palin.
Bailing out spares her state and her reputation as governor.

They wouldn’t even let her get away to go to CPAC in March. What makes you think they were going to let her mount a national campaign from the AK Governor’s office?

It's amazing how the media still succeeds at dictating what
many people think about a given issue.....even Freepers,
who should know better.

as if there is a magic checklist to be marked on the way to a POTUS run.

If Sarah Palin can run for President, win, and accomplish the following:

1. Abolition of the Income Tax and IRS
2. De Nationalization of any Obama legacy programs
3. Begin Winding Down the Social Security Ponzi Scheme
4. Rebuild our National Defenses to Pre Obama levels
5. Topple the Iranian and North Korean Regimes
6. All 1000 other things conservatives want removed from the scope of the federal government

If she can accomplish these things and wants to leave POTUS early, with a Vice President Jindal taking over, I am fine with that.

As you will learn, the left doesn’t need ammo. If they don’t have anything, they’ll make it up.

Yeah, the media was so nice to her before she resigned. Now, I guess, they’ll start attacking.

Point being, no matter what Palin did, the media would attack her for it. If she resigned with over a year left in her term, the media would call her a quitter, and say that she lacks experience. If she finished her term, they probably wouldn’t call her a quitter (although they may have argued that she should’ve run for a 2nd term), but they would still say that she lacks experience.

When in 2011 or 2012 she’s called a quitter, she can contrast her behavior with the behavior of Obama and end up looking the better. Obama, as Senator, missed many many votes. Palin can mention this, over and over again.

By resigning, Palin gave her opponents an easy attack, which she will be able to turn around on them. They will not develop other attacks (attacks which could work) because this one is so obvious to them. Brilliant.

At a minimum make the SSA show what you have put into it. They will never do it. Ponzi scheme from the word go.

Your opinion only. Sarah leaving, retreating to attack again is not only smart, it has proven successful by many many hard won battles.

Look and see what Sarah has, not what she doesn't.

Then look at the GOP and see what they have and then what they don't.

No contest, the GOP are in the hole because they have NOTHING like Sarah. They know it and so do the left.

If this does not sway you, then maybe this question will. If she made a huge mistake, they would be rejoicing, not condemning her (left included) Why are they?

I agree.

I wonder how many who voted for McCain only because they were expecting Palin to influence him, would now be supporting her choice to leave, if she were quitting his Vice Presidency.

If she can’t cope with or delegate to her husband the responsibility of handling their family issues, while she copes with all the personal attacks and whatnot that comes along with being Governor, how on earth can she be expected to handle all that comes with both family issues AND the job of POTUS/CIC?

tonight on littleman the dialog will be devoted to more attacks on Sarah Palin. His words will be chosen very carefully so he won't be faced with a slander suit. Sarah Palin is not in politics or in the public eye right now so I believe the slander line is not as high.
