Three Republicans on the House panel that oversees the Census Bureau have asked fellow GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota to end her plans to boycott next years count.
Reps. Patrick McHenry of North Carolina, Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia and John Mica of Florida issued a statement saying every elected representative has a responsibility to encourage participation in the 2010 Census. Boycotting the constitutionally mandated census is illogical, illegal and not in the best interest of our country, they stated.
. . . . .
McHenry, Westmoreland and Mica no fans of Acorn pointed out an unfortunate irony in Bachmanns boycott, saying it only increases the likelihood that Acorn-recruited census takers will be dispatched to her constituents homes. Anyone who completes and returns their census form will remove any need for a census taker to visit their residence.
. . . . .
Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok said the congresswoman isnt changing her position. We appreciate their views and hope to be able to work with them to keep Acorn which has earned public mistrust through its repeated voter registration fraud out of the census, Dziok said.

Um...Who??
I support her wholeheartedly. I was upset that my DH actually filled out the da#n census and mailed it back!!!
Grrrr...
I’d take her any day over Palin. Bachmann takes SPECIFIc positions but Palin (perhaps taking the advice of her neocon friend Billy Kristol) deals almost entirely in soundbites and slogans. The only specific stand she is appears to have to taken is to support more money for special needs children. Where does Palin stand on abolishing the Department of Education, the war on drugs, abolishing the Department of Energy, auditing the Fed. Nobody knows.
She's a female. Obama's eunuchs in his state run "media" will not allow it.
Who are these morons that think Acorn members asking invasive questions under the guise of the Census is a good idea?
If you like Bachmann, check out Sarah Steelman in Missouri. Think "Sarah Palin with an economics degree," *and* the RLC likes her.
As long as ACORN has anything to do with it I will only be answering the same questions that Ms. Bachmann is answering. I will allow no entry to anyone, official or otherwise. I am prepared for the fine and imprisonment if necessary.
I will not be badgered; I will not be bullied. Note: I did not comply with the last census either...
You forgot that she's not liberal and not hideous. Two things that can't be allowed.
At least 70% of the Republican party = Democrat auxiliary party.
Make no mistake, that's why the country is in such a pathetic shape.
“I will allow no entry to anyone, official or otherwise. I am prepared for the fine and imprisonment if necessary.”
Census workers have no legal authority to demand entry into private property. They have a legal mandate to ask how many people live in a given residence, and that’s it.
You have a designated hitter?
“Who are these morons that think Acorn members asking invasive questions under the guise of the Census is a good idea?”
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when your questionnaire arrives in the mail.
Amen, not only that, they'll be working under the executive branch, totally unconstitutional

‘I think youll be pleasantly surprised when your questionnaire arrives in the mail.’
No need to wait. You can check it out for yourself here:

When the form arrives, and you return it by mail, no one, ACORN or not, will darken your door.

# February March 2010: Census questionnaires are mailed or delivered to households.
# April 1, 2010: Census Day
# April July 2010: Census takers visit households that did not return a questionnaire by mail.
Schmucks. The “constitutionally mandated census” is for an enumeration, not a massive invasion of privacy carried out by ACORN.
Our reps (MICA) should be telling us how they plan on running ACORN out on a rail.
Instead they’re telling us what to do in order to avoid them?
WTF?
You're Fired ya RINO cowards
I like this girl!
