While there are some good points that you make, the whole matrix of your article is dependent on two myths: one, that the Dark Ages was such as you depicted it (if that is the case, then why were such beautiful creations as Gothic cathedrals created, universities established, and people during the “high” medieval age before the Black Death were as tall as present-day people); and two, the “Reformation” as instituted by Luther, Calvin, and their fellow travelers was needed. While there was a certain corruption of all too many clerics during the late medieval/Renaissance time period, the way those first Protestants went about their business was, in reality, the “zenith” of the first phase of the current secular Revolution against the order of Western civilization/Christendom.
You should read OV’s articles I linked that help explane some of your questions. I can only go by what I read that was written by others with more knowledge than I. I was struck by the many similarities from that period and now.

Based on Notre Dame university, the Catholic Church, at least in America, needs another reformation. It is becoming a corrupt leftist organ like many of the mainline Protestant denominations.

The Dark Ages were the period between the Fall of Rome and the emergence of the Holy Roman Empire. The Romans were so far advanced in so many things and much of that knowledge was lost for hundreds of years.
