"And I (Powell) never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that, if we dont pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great grandchildren will have to pay for it.
WASHINGTON Colin Powell worries that President Barack Obama is trying to tackle too many big issues at one time and he offers this advice: Take a hard look at costs and consider the additional red tape that will be created.
The right answer is, Give me a government that works, the former secretary of state said in a television interview to be aired today. Keep it as small as possible, added Powell, who said he has spoken recently with Obama and stays in touch with him. Powell, a Republican, endorsed Obama last year over the GOP presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

I cannot post what I think about this man. He sold himself on the altar of race. He betrayed his own principles to support a Marxist and NOW want to preach.
To think that I, and many other, years ago thought this man presidential material.
You just can’t make up this stuff!
Powell now wants to whine since obamanation’s popularity among people who think is waning.
Powell is now realizing how BAD he stepped in it.
If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace. - Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it. - Judge Learned Handabout an hour ago clear
Sucker.
LOL! Colin think that zerOP wants his advice? Colin’s role as a useful tool ended with his endorsement. Shut up and get back into the pasture, General.
LOL! Like Bammy is going to listen to Powell who is in his pocket!
I guess that’s what you get when you vote race and charisma.
Don’t worry, Colon; he’s black like you and can do no wrong.
Prove it.
The guy was so busy being a racist he ignored what was there for all to see.
I never liked him, and now despise him.
He complained about the governments size and intrusiveness in his 1996 speech to the Republican National Convention. He said then that the nation no longer could afford more entitlements, higher taxes and more bureaucracy. In the interview with CNNs State of the Union that is to air today, Powell said he hasnt changed his mind.
Powell might just as well have "I'm Stupid" tatooed on his forehead if he's supporting Hussein and claiming to hold onto his 1996 position.
I'm enjoying his squirming immensely.
I have no interest in either of these two, except perhaps for what they might teach us about grandiose egos.
Powell isn’t alone. I seem to remember JC Watts endorsing Obama also. There was a rush to elect the nation’s 1st black, unfortunately, the wrong one.
Yep, ol’ “Colon Blow” Powell really blew it!!!
Just another idiot democRAT regardless of what party he claims. We do not claim him......
Rush was so right about this guy, it’s scary.
Awakening. Has to start somewhere. Someone has to start speaking who supported zero. I welcome supporters of zero to start expressing “reservations”
