Palin 2012: The Crystal Ball
race 4 2012 ^ | July 3, 2009 | Alex Knepper

Posted on 07/03/2009 9:37:28 PM PDT by Al B.

Palin 2012. Hypothetical narrative.

If this is what she runs on — and does it well — then watch the hell out:

I’m Sarah Palin, and I’m running to be Citizen-In-Chief.

I entered politics to change something. I ran to serve my state, the great state of Alaska, and then for the vice-presidency because I care about this country.

I saw first-hand the viciousness and pettiness that have made Americans fed up with politicians, politics as usual, and the destructive personal attacks that also go on far too often. Those sorts of things that public service should never be about.

I thought I could serve my country best by being removed from that environment.

I don’t need a title to bring to Washington the change America really needs: a dose of humility in a federal government that has completely lost touch with its citizens.

So I come to you today as an Alaskan, as a parent of a soldier, and as a mother of five. I am running not as a member of the elite, of the establishment — but of the everyday. I ask to serve you as president because I have shared your experiences and I understand your disgust with the system. What we need today is not a ruler, but a servant. A servant of the people. A servant of America.

I will govern as first among equals, not as your ruler. Not as the Queen of Washington, giving orders that descend from on high. I know firsthand how that culture of selfishness and personal destruction in Washington harms lives. I ask for your support because I share your disgust with the system. And if you will fight with me, if you will put that trust in me to do that — then you can trust me, also, to change it.

The key for Sarah Palin will be the 2010 mid-terms. If she is able to orcestrate a huge victory for the GOP in the House and Senate she will have the world at her feet and ba cinch for the nomination.

Yeah. The press in Alaska is not exactly Palin friendly. No chance for them to dig up distorted crap and throw it at the wall before her statement. It was Beautiful.
I’m ready with my checkbook and my time to get her elected. Whatever it takes.

His policies and power grabs may destroy the country, but that wouldn’t be his intention.

To remake this country into something it was never intended to be is to destroy it...

That would be grand. But as long as the candidates she helps and endorse win, that will be seen as a huge victory.

PS- Sarah, please come to NJ!!!!!!

I have seen no evidence whatsoever that Obama loves this country...none....whether you or he admit intention on destruction is academic if one has seething contempt for American exceptionalism...

anyone who characterizes her speech in that fashion, is ‘WISHING’ nothing but BAD THINGS on that woman. PERIOD!

Agree! I watched her speech twice and I came away feeling pretty good about the future.

Okay, personally, I agree with that. I can almost guarantee you that the other side doesn’t see it that way. They truly (and wrongly) believe that they aren’t destroying the country but are improving it (and acquiring as much power as they can in the process). So, yes, they are wrecking the country, but not intentionally.

Just to clarify, I never said or meant to infer that Obama loved the country. :)

The road to hell is truly paved with good intentions...you could make the same argument for Hitler in 1940's Germany but that is no excuse...

I didn't think you did...I was referring to intentions and drives...I love this country "just the way it is"...and I think Sarah Palin feels the same. I'm sick of BO apologizing for America's greatness as if aspiring to build the greatest nation on earth with the most opportunity for all is somehow evil...and I said "opportunity"...not "Ya'll come and get free cars, houses and government cheese!"

Actually, as politics goes, all she really needs to do is raise lots of $$$ and not support any RINO candidates. That alone will tilt much of the critical infrastructure of the party her direction.

But you are correct, if she can leverage that to solid gains for the GOP (the bigger the better - perhaps even a reversal in the House) then she will have the party dancing to her tune.

To accomplish that, all she has to do is have a well planned Tea party and a pancake breakfast or spaghetti dinner for a congressional candidate. Maybe 5 or 6 of the same for a Senator.

And for now, the message is easy:

1) I am plain folks like you
2) I support the military
3) Obama is screwing things up big time by .....
4) We can still stop this assault on freedom by electing solid conservatives who will work to reverse the Obamanation

Reality check: Sarah Palin just held a news conference and NOBODY came.

You thought there will be thousands of people listening to the ad-hoc statement in her backyard?

You are a joker.

It was a great from the heart speech. And did not hear one pundit say as much. Getting it first hand makes all the difference. Fear and jealousy of her is extreme. She’s one powerful woman just by being herself - truly a born leader.

Yes, the difference being that Sarah has the ability to talkover the MSM and accomplish her goals.

That’s a rare talent indeed...
