Losing by 10 million votes, 7+ points, and more electoral votes than they carried proves you were wrong about her being McCain’s best shot.

The problem wasn’t Palin. It was McCain. No conservative was excited about him. They knew what he was. It was only after he picked Palin that I got excited about the party. McCain had no chance after the banking meltdown. Sarah couldn’t have revived Abe Lincoln after that debacle. Sarah is right on all the issues. Number one is “why are we begging the Saudi’s for their oil when it’s right here in Alaska”? This just boggles my mind. The answer is the Dems don’t want to find more oil. They want you on a bicycle to work. They think “oil is dirty” as Harry Reid said. The problem is that there are probably 200 million cars that make this country run and without them, we will be a third world banana republic. That is exactly where we’re headed with this “cap and tax” scam.

As one who is *not* a Palin cheerleader, I’m really surprised by your completely illogical comment.

That McCain lost by those numbers “proves” absolutely nothing about Palin.

Indeed and quite the opposite, it’s fairly common knowledge that Palin greatly improved McCain’s standing in the election.

...and if McCain had chosen a running mate who was a RINO like he is, instead of a conservative like SP??? My sense is that the margin of defeat would have been double digits for McCain.

Well the GOP did not factor in Akorn voting 43 times for each person. The election in Iran was more honest then ours.

Uh how can you imply with such certainty that she is responsible for the shortfall? Frankly, IMHO many would not have even bothered to go vote for McCain had she not joined the ticket. He needed her charisma and conservatism.

Without Palin, McCain would have made Goldwater look like a BIG winner. McCain and the Republicans saved themselves from the biggest defeat in modern times by putting Palin on the ticket.

I think you should thank her for getting mclaim as close as he did.

Take a good look at Sarah and then a better look at the GOP.

They are in trouble and the sooner they realize it the better we will be and they also

McCain was heading towards a Mondalian defeat with the entire conservative movement turning their back on him as he has on them for years. Picking Palin was the only thing which made it close.

She WAS McCain’s best shot. The problem was McCain was McCain’s worst enemy.

In any case, she’s not starting a new party or anything. She’s had enough of the cesspool; there is only pain and suffering for her family and nothing in for her or them. She’s going home.

That’s a weak arguement. Polls indicate a very strong possibility of contention till the market went through havoc.

NO REPUBLICAN COULD HAVE WON THIS PAST ELECTION GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES!

The public sentiment was far too contagiously against it to rationally undo.
