POLITICO: Palin plans to stay visible
Politico ^ | 7/3/2009 | Mike Allen

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin plans to remain extremely visible and will give serious consideration to running for president in 2012, but has made no decision, a close friend said after her startling announcement Friday that she will resign her office.

Friends say Palin plans to spend time writing her book, which is due this fall, then promote it heavily when it comes out in spring 2010.

Palin is by far the Republican Party's biggest draw for fund-raisers and conservative events, and the friends say she plans to spend a lot of time traveling in "the lower 48" states, as Alaskans call the continental U.S.

Those friends say she plans to give a series of paid speeches, and will also make free GOP appearances, raising money for the party and for issues. She also plans to help other candidates, collecting political IOUs for herself.

“Where are the “heroes” of the Republican party that have come to Sarah’s aid?”

I think the party is thinking well, it’s Mitt’s turn next time.

But in reality if they don’t let conservatives back in and don’t get involved in the primaries early, MSM and DNC will pick the candidate for them...again.

This will easily happen if they can neutralize the internet somehow and silence talk radio, there will be only one choice for information...again!

Palin/Limbaugh 2012! Probably isn’t the case, but I can still dream.

Who would you suggest, then? We’re running out of options.

I don’t agree with everything you said, but her speech today left lots to be desired. She rambled a lot and seemed to use code at times, repeating Pass the Ball several times. And what about Alaska Looks to the North or whatever that was.

Not a presidential quality effort IMO.

...I think this was a brilliant, very calculated, game-changing gambit.
You got THAT right!
Sarah sorta reminds me of that OTHER "Maverick." :o)
From Top Gun (1986):
Jester (Michael Ironside)
[discussing Maverick] His health report says it all: he's a wild card.

Flys by the seat of his pants, completely unpredictable.

Viper (Tom Skerritt)
He got you, didn't he?

I don't wear blinders, and ask yourself how you would react if this was anyone other than Palin.

Any one other than Palin ? Name me one other person who overnight bonded the conservatives together like Sarah did.

Would McLame have been better off picking a different running mate ?? Comparing Palin to "anyone else" in the GOP right now is a losing prop. We have some other hopefuls out there, but Sarah is pretty close to proven.

“If a Liberal Democratic political was harassed by the media and celebrities as much as Sarah was, the whole Democratic party would be up in arms. Where are the “heroes” of the Republican party that have come to Sarah’s aid?”

Exactly. The silence from her defenders in the Repub party is deafening, isn’t it?......starting with McCain. Later on, when one of these wussies wants our vote, our money, or other support, we should ask them first of all:, “What did you do or say in defending Gov. Palin when she was so viciously attacked in the MSM and even by some self absorbed and self described Republicans?”.

One thing that really sticks with me is that the campaign ended with the election in Nov. ‘08.. Why is the MSM and the Democrat party (one and the same almost) attacking Gov. Palin? It sure appears they fear her the most, so she is the target.

It's just sad that anyone would compare this woman to Reagan.

I'll compare her to Reagan anyday. She stands on her principles, unlike her running mate of 2008.

Does she speak as well as an actor, use to being in front of cameras for 30 years? No, but I trust every word out of her mouth. Which is far more than I can say of Mr. Hannity or Mr. McCain.

Absolutely great! Coulter wrote a book (I think it was her) talking about the NYT bestseller list for books, and whenever a book made it to the top and was a conservative book, they called it a Surprise Runaway or something like that.

Palin is going to write a surprise runaway that will have people in line down two blocks in the rain to get into the book signing!

I wish her well and I’ll do what I can to help her new career (whatever it turns out to be). She’s a magnet right now and needs iron filings to fill out the shape of her ideas.

“Wake up folks, the plan is in action. Cool beans.”

I love it, especially the “cool beans” part.
Mahalo, and lets go big time tomorrow on our Tea Parties.

“One thing that really sticks with me is that the campaign ended with the election in Nov. ‘08.”

The Republican campaign ended maybe a little befor ethat. The Democrats started the 2012 campaign the week before and have not stopped. Census, redistricting, Fairness Doctrine, and so forth are campaign moves for 2010 and 2012.

Republicans had better get with it.

I live in a “two-party state”....cannot vote in primaries as an “independent”. Better to take back the GOP from the RINO infiltrators and allow them to WALK THE PLANK back to the DUmocrats where they belong.

She's not the only conservative we can consider. If she were the only one, then we're REALLY DOOMED. Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels and Rick Perry come to mind.

Are you kidding? Rick Perry only got 39% of the vote in his home state last election and the "Mr. Rodgers speech" after the state of the union gave me serious concerns about Jindal's ability to communicate.
