The Obama administration faces its first real Latin American crisis. Let's hope Team Obama is aware of the goals of democracy's new-found but fickle friends.

Honduras presents the Obama administration with its first real Latin American crisis.

Since the 1981 return of civilian rule, Honduras has regarded itself as a friend of the U.S. In the '80s, it allowed the Nicaraguan Resistance or "Contras" to operate from base camps there. It lent troops for Operation Iraqi Freedom and continues to support a small U.S. military presence on Honduran soil. Economic ties are strong.

Now those cordial relations are in jeopardy.

“Formerly a centrist, this erratic politico morphed into a disciple of leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. His popularity plunged over the next three years, as the nation was battered by rising crime, poverty and economic recession.”
This could describe Obama to a tee, so it's no surprise he wants his fellow dictator returned to power.

The real test will be if the tyrants in the neighborhood attempt by force to reinstate the non president. Obama will fail that test.

More from the article:
“The U.S., anxious to send a pro-democracy message,
finds itself running with a dangerous crowd;
one whose agenda is not necessarily dedicated
to defending democracy.”

Wake up and smell the coffee, Dr. Walser. This is the perfect crowd for Obama. He couldn't choose a better collection of fellow travelers and he will help push Honduras into a Marxist dictatorship if given the opportunity.

No! No Chavez here! He commit treason and also we have arrest warrant for him. Honduran court work to prove perfect proof that he make ballots for Hondurans, video tape from spy and satellite and also from airport, they show clip on TV here. Chavez will not sleep, we not let him sleep ever. Venezuala demoralized, he wipe out all poor people to make big dangerous airport by Caracas and make manhy people without home, you can not have more than one home, they take all away from people.

The situation in Honduras strikes a little to close to home for President Obama. The supreme court removing a sitting president for not following the constitution. Gee wonder why that would bother Obama?

That guy took years to accomplish all that. Obummer has managed in mere months, not even six yet. Give him six more and he'll have us all in soup lines, and working on "We Piddle Along" projects. Except for the Obama Youth Corps that is. They'll be training for the next phase.

Fail? He'll probably order in a bunch of US Marines to help with the reinstatement.
