Hey, I found a picture. I really love song writers. I play a bit of guitar, but I am not that good.

Look - you start out mocking the Church with your “Whoop Dee Doo” comment and want to escalate your petty denominational pissing contest. My on-line websites are public, my songs are well-recieved in various venues and I don’t give a rat’s ass that you want to make them or me even more visible. Go nail it to the Church door, if you want.

It’s hard to imagine how one guy can be so talented, smart AND handsome, ain’t it?

Absolutely. The whole concept of Rome telling anyone who is and isn't a "saint" is ridiculous. It isn't Biblical, and it isn't true.

I won't ever be silent about something like that, and it deserves to be pointed out.

Paul said the same thing about false teaching.

"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." (2 Timothy 4:2-4 NIV)

It is one thing to be ignorant. It is quite another to spout things that are directly against what God says. That is one dangerous game - and the Catholic Church constantly spouts things that are not Biblical.

I could make a list if you want one.

want to escalate your petty denominational pissing contest.

Oh please. It is called Christian Doctrine. If that cannot be defended, then nothing can.

Sir - I was not attacking you. I was trying to compliment your work and express my admiration for song writers.

OK - My position is that the ONLY thing that matters is that He died, He rose, He paid my bill and He lives. I don’t choose to argue chapter and verse. The photo you brought up seems to have come from my “avenue hi-fi” site. If you go to http://myspace.com/emmettgrayson the song which will come up is titled “That Rock Is Gonna Roll” and it is my idea of what matters as far as the faith. You’re free to take it or leave it.

Amen my brother.

I don’t choose to argue chapter and verse.

Sigh. If you are a child of God you HAVE TO argue for chapter and verse of what He said! My goodness - have you READ the Bible?

It so happens that I read the Bible daily, OK? But I’m not going to argue about it. I live the faith to whatever degree the Lord sees fit day-by-day. Now and then, a person asks how and why I am able to handle various situations and, if the Holy Spirit is leading, I will then share.

Simple. You cannot have 25,000 versions of the Truth or Churches. Jesus the Christ is Truth and founded one Church to promote his scriptural teachings. It was the Catholic Church that gave us the bible where certain writings were included as authentic and others were cast away.

Cardinal Newman was considered a pillar of the Protestants and a scholar and Christian theologian without peer at the time of his conversion to Catholicism. I recommend his book: “The Catholic Church” that irrefutably makes the case you are disputing. Of course we must love our neighbor- Christians and non-Christians alike. Yet continue to pray that they not follow false prophets and doctrines.

A typical statement trying to slam Biblical Christianity; and you repeat this "25,000" thingy again in an thin attempt to defend the indefensible that comes out of the Catholic teaching that is neither Biblical nor Truth.

I might now have the urge to eat fish on Thursday in defense of a Sacarement regarding Cannon Law #505 and Pray to Saint Esmerlda of The Island of Lesbos.

I could give you a Bible verse for that, but like what the Vatican teaches - there isn't one. What separates that sarcasm from their reality is..............nothing. Repeat - NOTHING.

Jesus the Christ is Truth and founded one Church to promote his scriptural teachings.

His Chruch are His body of believers in Him - not the institution that has disobeyed God's very word. Where shall I begin to point out the heritical teachings of Rome? I could go on for pages.....

Would you like some links on Catholics that found Jesus?

The Bible is God's word. Why is this so hard for you? God does not want worship based on tradition that He didn't even order! Again, why is this so hard for your heart to accept? Isn't His Word enough? Isn't Jesus Christ enough? Isn't what Christ did enough?

I can't understand you. I changed when I found out what Grace really was.

This is where you lose me. I belong to a Bible study. There is nothing to "argue." There is celebration of what God teaches us. Why the "argue?"

I'll argue if you want to facilitate something that isn't Biblical. It is one of the few things I become fierce about. If it was not for Jesus Christ, I was going to Hell itself. Hell is terrible. Awful beyond description. I had a dream about it once - and I can still experience it. He saved me. I love Him.

What the Catholic Church teaches is un-Biblical. Period. Dot. It is a slam and shut case.

What "world" is that?

My goodness.

Truth is truth. The Bible is truth, and yet you refuse to see it.

You don't even belong on a forum like Free Republic with that attitude. If that really is your logic, go and join the atheists and the Democrats.

End of freakin’ discussion. Period. Dot. And whatever other fundamentalist crap you want to add,

Here we go again. "Fundamentalist" what? Do you believe the Bible is true, or not? Is God's word true or not? Who taught you this? Do you have someone in your past who did this to you?

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

I don’t care if you’re the King of Ireland. Leave me alone. Or are you too stupid to understand basic English?

Hey, friend. Thanks for defending our faith and the one true Church.

Hope you're having a wonderful Independence Day. :)

Thank you very kindly. I am a Catholic because I find the Mass a quiet, reflective, personal form of worship. I hear the Word of God and am blessed to take the Eucharist. I don’t belittle or malign the different practices of other denomination. This guy has been relentlessly aggressive no matter how I tried. I happen to believe there are genuine Christian believers throughout all denominations. Jesus died, He paid my bill, He rose again and He lives. Nothing else matters except for folks who want to argue over whether we’re allowed to “drink or dance”. As a Catholic in the South, I’ve heard it all - from the speaking in tongues groups to the snake handlers to the “prosperity” theologians. My job is to live a life that attracts others, not to tell others where they’re all wrong. I linked to my one song on one of these earlier posts and, to me, it says all I need to understand. If I’m led to more, it will be by way of the Holy Spirit, not by some obnoxious poster. Be well and God bless.

I am defending what Christ said.

Simply that.

You could threaten to kill me and I would do the same.

Perhaps we could come to a realization instead. It would be that the Catholic Church is full of %^&**(^^%^ when it comes to Scripture, and you would agree.

Hi. Doing OK myself.

It is really interesting to me how some Catholics refuse to believe the Bible. Wow. I just have to be amazed.

Interesting, isn't it?

1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 2:1-3
