Except that she is quitting early a job for which she campaigned, won and accepted. That is not ethical, sorry.

On the contrary, if someone believes their replacement could do a better job in the position, then resignation is the most ethical thing they can do.

Government in Alaska has become pathologically dysfunctional due to Democrat schemes designed to distract Palin from her duties. Perhaps her hope is that with her out of the picture, her replacement will be more effective in the role.

Of course, she is probably wrong. The facts seem to be that government simply doesn't work anymore. But it is best to try every other option before resorting to revolution. The violence, bloodshed, and hardship that will come as a result of civil war is best avoided if any possible alternative for resolution of the underlying offenses can be found.

If she believed that she wouldn't be up to the task as well as her Lt. Gov. would be then she never should have taken the job.

Her attitude of 'don't explain' is dead wrong in this case. If I were a resident of Alaska I'd damn well want more than "trust me".
